Her name is Adela.

A girl whose mouth is silent, but her mind full of loud thoughts. A girl with a heart full of love, but herself
doesn’t get the love she deserves. A girl who has talent but is afraid to show them in this society. That
girl, her name is Adela.

Adela is a young teenager who lives with her single mother. She doesn’t have a dad, as he left her and
her mother the day she was born. She always wanted to experience the love of a father. At school, she
doesn't have a lot of friends, only one, whose name is Ella. Ella was always there for Adela when she was
stuck in her dark times. She was also the only one who liked Adela for who she was.

Before the first day of school, Adela was picking her outfit, while she was calling Ella. She wanted to have
a beautiful outfit so that she could make a good impression. She picked a long sleeveless dress with a
white shirt underneath it. She let her hair down and she wore two little hoop earrings. Adela was ready
for her first school day. She took her bike and went to Ella’s neighborhood. While she was riding on her
bike to find Ella’s house, she already saw her from a distance. She saw her best friend talking and
laughing with another girl. “Hey, Ella!” Adela said with a whisper voice. “Oh, hey there, Adele! Meet my
new friend. Her name is Yara. She just moved in here.” Adela got a little jealous, as she didn’t want to be
left out. Adela just brushed her jealousy from her shoulders and introduced herself to Yara. Yara didn’t
seem so enthusiastic and looked at Adela from head to toe. Adela saw what she was doing but didn’t
care about it. Adela went on her bike and asked Ella if she wanted to sit on the back of her bike, which
they always did. But before Ella could answer her, Yara asked if she wanted to sit on the back of her bike.
Adela was disappointed when she saw her own best friend going to Yara to sit on the back of her bike.

When they arrived at school, Adela, Ella, and Yara went to check which class they needed to be in. To
their surprise, they were all in the same class. When the first bell rang, they all celebrated that they were
in the same class, except Yara. She just followed Ella, while she was looking dirty at Adela. When they
arrived at their class, the teacher said that they could choose a seat, but there were only two seats. Yara
grabbed Ella’s hand and went to take a seat with her. Adela came to Ella and said: “I thought we would
sit next to each other if we were in the same class, I mean...You promised me that?” Adela felt alone and
looked at Yara. She was disappointed in her best friend, and she wasn’t feeling any better when she felt
Yara’s dead eyes looking at her. Adela went to sit behind them. While the teacher was introducing
himself, Ella and Yara were there the whole time laughing. They were laughing and talking so loudly that
the teacher even commented on their behavior. Adela felt left out and was thinking the whole time why
Ella chose Yara over her.

When it was finally lunchtime, the girls went to the park that was located in the school and grabbed their
lunch. Adela had a lunch that she got at a fast food restaurant. “Are you going to eat that? Doesn’t one of
your parents prepare lunch for you?” said Yara aggressively. “My mom doesn’t have the time to prepare
me lunch,” said Adela in a silent voice. “Why doesn’t your dad pack you lunch then?” said Yara. Adela felt
her heartbeat going faster and faster because her dad was mentioned. The man who didn’t even want to
give his daughter love. The man who didn’t protect his daughter. The man who disappeared and never
came back. The man who left his wife alone with a newborn baby. She didn’t know what to say. She
looked at Ella. The girl who always stood up for her didn’t even do anything about it. Adela was staring
into Ella’s eyes and was trying not to cry. Ella was the only one who knew about her father. Ella looked
down and began to eat the lunch that her mother prepared. Adela grabbed her lunch and ran to the
toilets while she was crying. How could her own best friend do this to her? With tears in her eyes, she
began to eat from her lunch.

The last school bell rang. Adela went to grab her bike but was devastated by what she saw. She saw Ella
giving the necklace that she got from her to Yara. Ella saw Adela and wanted to go to her, but Adela was
fast and grabbed her bike and rode off. “What’s up with her? First, she ditched us completely during
lunch break and now she doesn’t even talk to us?” said Yara. “I think she just has a lot on her mind. We
just need to give her space,” said Ella. “I guess so... By the way, thanks for the necklace! Where did you
get it from?” said Yara. Ella didn’t want to say that she got it from Adela as a birthday present, so she
lied. “I got it from a jewelry store when I was in Turkey!” said Ella. Yara was grateful for the gift and both
her and Ella went on the bike and rode off.

When Adela got home with tears, she saw her mother sitting on the couch. She wanted to go to her
mother so that she could tell what was bothering her, but she almost forgot that her mother didn’t care
about her. Her mother became very aggressive and unlikeable and got depressed when her husband left
her. Adela never grew up with a loving mother who wiped the tears off her daughter’s face. A mother
who always had a listening ear for her daughter. A mother who called her daughter her world and a
princess. Adela was devastated. She had no one to talk to. She went to her room and closed the door.
When she wanted to sit on her bed, her phone rang. It was Ella. Adela immediately hung up, but Ella
called again. Adela didn’t have a choice as she knew that Ella would keep calling. Adela answered the
phone and got mad when she heard Ella’s first sentence. She asked why Adela was acting a little rude
today and why she ditched both Ella and Yara during lunch break. “What do you mean?” said Adela
Angrily. “You gave your necklace to Yara that you got for me as a birthday present. How could you?! And
when Yara spoke rudely about my lunch, you didn’t even stand up for me.” said Adela. “Well, first of all,
the necklace that you gave to me was mine, so I can do whatever I want with it. Second of all, you can
stand up for yourself, and if I’m being honest, you’re so dramatic. You think that the world revolves
around you just because your dad left you and your mom doesn’t love you.” Adela didn’t move. She let
her phone fall on her bed and saw that Ella had already hung up. Not even a minute had passed before
tears were rolling down Adela’s face. She didn’t recognize her own best friend anymore. The only thing
she didn’t want was to lose her best friend who had always been there for her. Adela sat on her bed and
realized that she had lost the only one she ever had.

The next day, Adela woke up to her alarm. She realized that she had slept the whole day through. She
quickly brushed her teeth and put on the same clothes as yesterday. She got on her bike and rode to the
fast food restaurant. When she was ready to order her usual school lunch, she realized that she didn’t
have any money on her. She reached out to her mom with her phone and called her, but her mother
hung up on her. Adela felt embarrassed and told the cashier that she didn’t have any money and couldn’t
buy the lunch. “You know what? I am going to buy your lunch. It’s on me!” said the cashier with a smile.
Adela was grateful and grabbed the lunch, thanking the cashier a thousand times. The cashier caught
himself smiling as Adela walked happily out the door. When Adela arrived at school, she already saw Ella
and Yara laughing together. Adela felt her heart shrink as she still didn’t want to believe that she had lost
her best friend. She laid her bike somewhere and went to her class. When she arrived at her class, she
quickly realized that it was empty. Not even her teacher was there. She quickly grabbed a seat, but she
didn’t realize that it was Yara’s seat. A few minutes later, the empty room turned into a room with loud
students. Adela couldn’t wait for class to finish. She wanted to lay her head on the desk, but she saw
Yara walking angrily towards her with Ella next to her. “I don’t know what your problem is, but this is my
seat.” said Yara. Adela got up and went to her seat that was behind Yara's. She hoped that Ella would
apologize to her, but Ella didn’t even look at her once. The whole school day, Adela was tired and alone.

The last school bell rang. Adela walked quickly and grabbed her bike, riding away from school to her
home. When she got home, she saw her mother angrily on the phone. Adela asked her if something was
bothering her, but her mother ignored her as always. Adela felt like a toddler wondering why her mother
was ignoring her, but she just went to her room as she was used to it. When she reached for her
bedroom door, she heard her mother yelling. “You better keep your distance from my daughter. You are
a bad person, and my daughter has me, and I am the only one she needs!” Adela rolled her eyes and let
out a little laugh as her mother's behavior didn’t even match her sentence. But her little laugh quickly
turned into a gasp when she heard a voice she recognized from somewhere. “At least I want the best for
our daughter! You probably don’t even care about her as much as I do!” said the person on the phone.
“And how do you know that? You left her the day I gave birth to her!” said her mother. Adela quickly
came to realization that it was her father on the phone. She went back downstairs and angrily asked who
her mother was talking to. Her mother didn’t want her daughter to hear all of this. Adela asked tearfully
if she could speak with her father on the phone. “If you want to talk to him, then go to that fast food
restaurant. Your miserable dad works as a cashier there!” yelled her mother. Adela was shocked. The
cashier who gave her the free lunch was her father. She ran outside without a word and left the door
open. Her mother didn’t even care where she was running to and just went back to sit on the couch as
usual.

Adela arrived at the fast food restaurant and yelled for her dad. Everyone there looked confused and
thought that she was a crazy girl. She took a deep breath when she saw her father. He quickly went to his
owner and told him that he would come back. He ran to Adela and grabbed her arm, and they both went
outside. Adela was confused, and tears were rolling down her face. Her mind was full of questions. “Let
me explain, Adela. I didn’t leave you and your mother because I wanted to. I left because I needed to.
We were too young.” said her dad. Adela didn’t know what to say. First, she lost her best friend, and then
she met her father, who was the cashier the whole time. “Your mom and I were just teenagers. We were
in love. When I heard that your mother was pregnant, I didn’t know what to do. I supported your mom
when she was pregnant, but the day you were born, I knew I wasn’t ready to be a father. I loved you, and
I knew that you were my daughter, but I just couldn’t...” said her father with tears. The father apologized
and fell to his knees. “The only thing I needed was a parent that loved me, but even that I didn’t get. I
was just a little girl who needed love from someone. Someone whose hugs were as warm as the sun.
Someone whose voice was like birds in the morning to my ears. Someone whose fingers went slowly
through my hair. Was it that much to ask for, Dad...?” The father felt heartbroken as he saw Adela with
tears walking away from him. That was the last time he saw her.

Many days have been passed away and Adela fell into a depression. She was not doing well in school, as
her grades were very bad, but she still stood up and got ready for school. When she arrived at school,
she saw Ella and Yara in a big group. They were all laughing with each other. Adela walked past them and
didn’t even glance one time at them. During the break, she sat alone on a bench with no lunch. She
didn’t want to see her father, not even one time. Ella looked at Adela from a distance and realized that
she was not doing well. Adela had lost a lot of weight, wore the same clothes for the past few weeks,
and her hair was a mess. She wanted to go and comfort her, but their relationship was on bad terms, and
Adela didn’t want to talk to her anymore. Ella was worried that it was all her fault that Adela was in bad
condition but kept her feelings to herself.

The school day was over, and Adela went over to reach her bike when suddenly Yara pushed her to the
ground. She got up and saw that Yara and her friend group, including Ella, were surrounding her. “Are
you not embarrassed? Your hair is a mess, and you look homeless in those clothes,” said Yara loudly.
Everyone began to laugh, and they all took photos of Adela. Adela’s heart began pounding very fast from
embarrassment. She looked towards Ella, and she saw that she was the only one who was not laughing.
Adela was hoping that this time Ella would stand up again for her, but Ella didn’t do anything and just
walked away. Adela grabbed her bike and rode as fast as possible to her home. A few hours later, she
arrived at home. She stormed aggressively into her house and suddenly saw a letter from her mom. She
read that her mom is going to spend two weeks at her best friend's house and that she put money on
her desk for grocery shopping. Adela didn’t even care and she was not planning to buy food, as she
doesn’t have an appetite anymore due to her depression. She went to the bathroom and looked in the
mirror. She saw that her hair looked like a mess and that her eye bags were really visible. Her eyes were
red from all the crying and her clothes didn’t have a good smell. She doesn’t recognize herself anymore.
The lovely girl with the golden heart turned into a monster. She began to cry as soon as she realized that
she turned just like her mother.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I apologize for the mistake. The correct spelling of the name
is Adela. I will make sure to double-check for any typos or errors in the future. The next day, Adela went
to school in the same clothes. She walked through the school doors with her head down. She heard
people around her giggling and when she turned her head to them, she quickly realised why. The whole
school was full of pictures of Adela’s head on a homeless man. Yara went over to her and asked if she
found those pictures adorable. Adela was struggling to breathe. She was devastated and felt
embarrassed. “What did I ever do to you?” said Adela to Yara. Yara began to laugh and said that Adela’s
presence was just bothering her. Adela felt her blood running down her body. This was the first time that
she felt this anger. A wave of anger so big, you can’t even describe it. Ella saw Adela getting angry and
wanted to stop her, but before she even could say a word, Adela launched her first punch into Yara’s
face. Yara collapsed into the ground and blood began running from her nose. Adela was shocked. Her
anger which she never felt quickly turned into regret. Everyone was shocked and went to Yara. Adele
quickly grabbed her bike and went back to her house. Ella wanted to go after her, but Adela was too fast.
Yara got up and began crying. “Look what she did! She’s a monster!” said Yara loudly. Ella grabbed a
tissue for Yara’s bloody nose and kept asking herself what would have happened if she just stopped Yara
from printing those pictures.

A week has passed and everyone has already forgotten about the fight, but Ella still hasn’t. She looked
behind her in class and saw that Adela still hadn’t come to school yet. Ella began worrying about her.
When school was over, Ella grabbed her bike and wanted to ride away, but Yara didn’t let her. She asked
Ella if she wanted to go shopping, but Ella said she wasn’t really in a good mood and just wanted to go
home. Yara looked at her from head to toe and just walked away. “Are you mad because I don't want to
come?” said Ella. Yara just ignored her and kept on walking. Ella rode away and didn’t care about Yara
this time, but was more worrying about Adela’s absence. A few hours later, Ella arrived home. She went
to her room and sat on her bed. She wanted to reach out to Adela so she grabbed her phone and began
to search for her number. When she found her number, she called Adela. But she just got a voicemail.
Ella kept calling and calling but the only thing she got was a voicemail. She began to worry because she
knew that Adela always answered her phone, even if she didn’t know the number. Ella had a feeling that
there was something wrong.

The next day Ella went to school, but this time without Yara. She blocked her on everything, as she finally
realized that Yara wasn’t a good person to hang out with. When Ella walked into the classroom she saw
Yara staring at her with an angry face. Ella didn’t care much. She walked past Yara and didn’t sit next to
her, but next to Adela’s seat. She began to realize how much she missed her best friend. Her best friend
who always made her laugh. Her best friend with whom she shared her secrets. Her best friend who was
a lovely person.

The bell rang and it was finally break time. Ella grabbed her phone to send a text message to Adela to
apologize to her and to ask her if they could hang out this weekend, but then she saw that Adela was last
online a week ago. She found it strange as Adela always checks her socials. But she didn’t question it so
much and still sent the text message. After school, Ella went home and ran straight to her bedroom. She
sat on her bed and checked if Adela had answered her, but she didn’t get any message from her. Ella
thought that Adela’s phone might be broken. She still waited after many hours for her text message. She
got up and put her shoes on and walked out the door. She wanted to go to Adela’s house to make things
right and to see if she was alright, as she didn’t come to school for a good week.

While she was walking in Adela’s neighborhood she got again that bad feeling. She sensed that there was
something wrong, but she didn’t know what. When she finally stood over Adela’s door, she knocked a
few times, but no one answered. She knocked again a few times, but no one answered again. She began
to worry and she started to lose her patience. She felt again a deep sense of uneasiness and didn’t know
what to do. She began to unintentionally break the door, and it eventually worked. She ran upstairs and
knew where her room was so she went in there but she didn’t see Adela. She looked over the bathroom
and walked towards it. When she opened the door, her heart clenched. The girl with whom she made
many memories was on the bathroom floor. She fell down her knees and repeatedly said Adela’s name,
but Adela didn’t answer. Ella began to cry heavily and laid her head on her breast, but she didn’t hear a
single heartbeat. She quickly called the ambulance, but when she saw the pills on the side of the
bathroom floor, she quickly realized that Adela overdosed. The ambulance came to the house, but they
couldn’t save Adela. Ella felt guilty and blamed Adela’s death on herself. Ella’s heart was full of regret,
pain, and guilt when she saw Adela being carried to the ambulance.

“I tragically lost my best friend. I left her alone in a dark surrounding full of her negative thoughts when I
knew that I was the only one who always saved her from it. I’m sorry that I didn’t stand up for you
anymore. I’m sorry that I just turned a blind eye when you were getting bullied. Words cannot describe
how guilty and devastated I was when I saw her on the bathroom floor. Words cannot describe how
much I loved her truly. I was the one she needed the most, but I wasn’t available. The lovely girl I turned
into a monster, her name was Adela”- Ella Evans
