Cartoons are an inevitable part of every child’s life. Since the emergence of cartoon

films over a century ago, several generations of children have grown up watching

animated films. A multitude of girls have fantasized about being princesses and boys

have imagined themselves to be valiant knights after watching classic animated tales

like Peter Pan, Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, etc.

However, cartoons can have both positive and negative effects on the cognitive

development and behaviour of a child. This article tells you all about the effects of

cartoons on children and gives you tips on how to deal with its negative effects.

INTRODUCTION
Cartoons are a part of the growing years of a child. Cartoons have existed since

ancient times and have continued until now that cause children watching them while

growing up. Cartoons are a source of entertainment, information and also it can

influence. There's variety type of cartoons that children can easily search and watch

on television or phone including political/editorial cartoons , gag cartoons and

animated cartoons. After all, they have been born and brought up in a world largely

electronic. A world where all they need to do is click a few buttons on the iPad or

gadget for the cartoon show of their choice. For instance, children can easily just

search which cartoons they want to watch on entertainment platforms such as

Youtube. Before generation z, most of the animations created can show the positive

side but soon the animations created slowly show the negative side. However, in my

opinion, cartoons have pros and cons to children since they are innocent and have a

pure heart.

ancient times and have continued until now that cause children watching them while

growing up. Cartoons are a source of entertainment, information and also it can

creative thinking-enhanced learning process at the early age-some parents think that

watching cartoons can helps their children get an early start on learning something-

can learn basic things interactively and enjoyably-There’s a cartoon channel for

almost every language-watching cartoons can exposure children to learn different

languages-watching cartoons in native language can help them learn the language

better. By watching different cartoons (non-native ones), kids can also boost their

pronunciation and conversational skills.

The obvious disadvantages of watching cartoons - children - addicted to watching

cartoons - can harm their health. because cartoons can make children addicted - the

songs found in cartoons - song creations that are easy to remember. Created works -

entertain their daily life - interesting characters - make them addicted. Children - like

to repeat the same thing - like familiarity - something close to them. These things -

they don't socialize - outside environment - don't have many friends - arrogance is

born. Parents - play a role - take children out - recreation - exercise - playground.

Taking fresh air - mixing with other children - reducing the feeling of being addicted

children show aggressive behaviour. - cartoons can impact on children's psychology

. - result in being withdrawn , antisocial and uncommunicative. - children tend to

watch and aspire some highly unrealistic cartoon characters as a role model. - children

.- important to monitor cartoons they watch and set a time limit per day.

CONCLUSION

On the whole, cartoons that have been produced give more negative impacts than the

positive impact to childrens’ lifestyle. They can be very well concluded that under

the pretty cute and seemingly innocent characters with the stories of the cartoon

characters, there lies an ocean of hidden traits. There are social messages of gender

disparity, and social stereotyping. On one hand, cartoons help the children to learn,

enjoy and keep themselves entertained but can also lead them to be aggressive and

restless. Thus, children are not required to use their brains to think about how things

work or learning new words and also understanding the value things. Meanwhile,

cartoons should bring families together so that children are being challenged more and

have to use their minds to think and grow. In order to overcome this problem, all

parties especially parents and schools need to take effective measures because it is

very important to ensure a better life in the future for the children.
