    GENDER INEQUALITY

    Discrimination based on a person's sex or gender that results in one sex or gender being regularly given
    preference over another is known as gender inequality.

    Discrimination based on gender breaches the fundamental human right to gender equality. The world
    over, gender inequality is currently restricting children's potential for a lifetime and disproportionately
    affects girls. It begins in childhood.

    While gender roles and settings differ from place to place throughout the world, it is evident that gender
    inequality exists everywhere and at every stage of life, starting in childhood or even before birth.

    Gender equality is at the center of all we do at Save the Children. Our goal is to create a world where
    men, women, and girls all have equal rights.
