construction associations may serve as an ATS. Registration procedures will vary by ATS but
certain requirements are dictated by NCCER. A general outline is included in the following steps.
2. The school must become registered as an NCCER accredited training and education facility
(ATEF). This involves completing two forms (Form 106 and 105) and paying a fee of around $50.
3. The instructor must complete the NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP)

4. Within the first year of NCCER approval as an ATEF, the facility must be audited by the ATS.

RAPIDS Apprenticeship Certificate

A RAPIDS Apprenticeship Certificate is a portable, stackable, nationally recognized credential
awarded to anyone who completes a registered apprenticeship program approved by the
United States Department of Labor (USDOL). Per 29 CFR Part 29, a registered apprenticeship
program requires at least 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and at least 144 hours of related
instruction per year. Students enrolled in a work-based learning (WBL) course may be employed
in a registered apprenticeship program as their WBL placement. Any student who completes a
registered apprenticeship program will receive a certificate generated through the RAPIDS
database.
Nationally, there are thousands of registered apprenticeship programs across all sixteen career
clusters. In Tennessee, there are currently 405 registered apprenticeship programs, all of which

While USDOL oversees the RAPIDS Certification process, the RAPIDS database is maintained by

This involves completing two forms (Form 106 and 105) and paying a fee of around $50.
3. The instructor must complete the NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) and keep all

4. Within the first year of NCCER approval as an ATEF, the facility must be audited by the ATS. The
auditing will be completed every 3 years thereafter. Programs are required to use the NCCER textbook as
the primary textbook for the course to be accredited.
5. As students complete modules, the school instructor tracks student progress. Periodically, the school
instructor completes a Form 200 making a record of student names and the modules they have
completed, and submits the record to NCCER (or the ATS depending on how the ATS process is set up).
NCCER transcripts, certificates, and wallet cards are issued for the successful completion of all modules in

appropriate residents. To become a Training Feeding Assistant, students must complete 8 hours of
training as required by both federal and State of Tennessee regulations. In addition, the training

An American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certification offers value to certificants, employers, and the public.
As the most comprehensive certification program available to culinarians, the ACF offers 14 different
certification credentials that individuals can achieve through experience, education, and successful
completion of written and practical exams. All ACF Certification Programs are accredited by the National
Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) for meeting the highest credentialing standards of the
professional certification program. To earn the Certified Fundamentals Cook® (CFC®) Certification,
individuals must meet the minimum requirements: a high school diploma or GED, 75 hours of continuing
education, or graduation from ACFEF Secondary Program. Also, one needs to complete 30-hour course

A Trained Feeding Assistant is an individual who has successfully completed a State Approved Feeding

certified flight or ground instructor prior to taking the test. A satisfactorily completed knowledge
test expires 24 calendar-months after the month it was taken. If a practical test is not satisfactorily
completed during that period, another knowledge test must be taken.

can legally fly an aircraft with non-paying passengers. Also with a private pilot certificate, you can
act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft towing a glider, fly for charity, non-profit, or community
events, or assist in search and location operations and be reimbursed for fuel, oil, airport expenses,
and rental fees. Students wishing to pursue a private pilot’s license must first pass Private Pilot
Knowledge Exam, prove competencies through 40-60 hours of in-air flight instruction and pass an
oral and flight check given by a FAA certified examiner.

A RAPIDS Apprenticeship Certificate is a portable, stackable, nationally recognized credential
awarded to anyone who completes a registered apprenticeship program approved by the United
States Department of Labor (USDOL). Per 29 CFR Part 29, a registered apprenticeship program
requires at least 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and at least 144 hours of related instruction per
year. Students enrolled in a work-based learning (WBL) course may be employed in a registered
apprenticeship program as their WBL placement. Any student who completes a registered
apprenticeship program will receive a certificate generated through the RAPIDS database.
Nationally, there are thousands of registered apprenticeship programs across all sixteen career
clusters. In Tennessee, there are currently 405 registered apprenticeship programs, all of which
offer structured on-the-job training, mentorship by industry professionals, and a clearly defined
wage progression for skills gained throughout the program.

into a registered apprenticeship program in which the completion of the program guarantees the
participant the opportunity to interview for employment in a specific registered apprenticeship
program. The TN Certified Pre-Apprenticeship framework was implemented to create a direct talent
pipeline into registered apprenticeship programs in Tennessee.
All TN Certified Pre-Apprenticeship programs must meet specific criteria outlined by the TN
Department of Labor & Workforce Development, including:
