Blade Drift Eliminator

Brentwood’s DE120 is a blade style drift eliminator designed to

remove entrained water droplets from the exiting air stream of
either counterflow or crossflow cooling towers. The sinusoidal-
shaped blade design forces the air to make three distinct directional
changes for improved droplet removal from the exiting airstream.
The blades are held together with 34 mil (0.86mm) one-piece end
caps, forming lightweight assembled modules and provide extra
structural integrity for beam strength and durability. The DE120
nests into adjacent modules providing a seamless installation in
order to prevent drift-bypass between modules. It also features an
open drainage design for crossflow applications.

With its fully nesting design, Brentwood’s Dri-Seals, and careful

installation, any new properly designed counterflow cooling tower
can achieve 0.005% drift emissions per the CTI ATC-140 test
method.

The DE120 is offered in 25 mil (0.64mm) after-forming gauge in

UV-protected rigid PVC or high-temperature HPVC that meets CTI
Standard 136. Standard packs are available in 5.75” (146mm)
depths and 24” (610mm) widths. Pack lengths are available up to
144” (3658mm).

Example Specification
Drift eliminators shall be of the blade-type, Brentwood DE120. The modules shall be made from UV-protected rigid PVC that meets CTI
STD-136 and have a minimum Oxygen Index of 30 per ASTM D2863. The modules shall be solvent bonded at designated glue pads and
shall be designed to nest to prevent drift-bypass between modules. The passageways shall cause the air to make at least three (3) directional
changes.

The modules shall measure 5.75” (146mm) D x up to 24” (610mm) W x up to 144” (3658mm) L.

The modules shall be able to be supported on 72” (1829mm) centers with minimal deflection at design conditions.

The installation shall be accordance with manufacturers recommendations and guidelines in order to meet the specified drift rate.
