Answer:
One of the important functions of an assistant manager is as an intermediary for
communication purposes in the office and is tasked with connecting managers with staff, for
example in terms of resolving staff problems and coordinating their work.
The main role as Assistant Tax Manager will support and have a significant impact on the
company. Therefore, candidates are required to know various types of business in the
company and understand the commercial flow, such as:
1) Manage tax compliance matters; including preparation of monthly and annual tax
calculations/payments/refunds, namely WHT, VAT, PPh).
2) Manage and provide advice on daily business initiatives including decisive action on
unstable business products.
3) Manage and handle restructuring projects independently with supervision from AVP
Tax.
4) Able to communicate and align with relevant stakeholders in the group.
5) Monitor any updates to tax regulations, identify relevant business areas that may be
impacted, and plan risk mitigation strategies.
6) Able to support litigation and risk assessment processes.
7) Able to support advocacy initiatives in related external organizations.
