RE: Opposition to SUP for 3104 Fairmount Street (2234-108)
Dear Ms. Potter,
As you know, Tiny & Gigi LLC is seeking an SUP for the sale of alcoholic beverages in
conjunction with a liquor store for the property located at 3104 Fairmount Street. Alamo
Manhattan strongly opposes this request.
‘Alamo Manhattan is the largest property owner in the immediate area of the applicant's property.
However, the applicant made no effort to contact us about this application.
The applicant’s property is located on the north side of the intersection of Carlise Street and
Fairmount Street. Alamo Manhattan and its affiliates own the properties on both the south side of
the intersection (the Marriott Dallas Uptown Hotel at 3001 and 3033 and Fairmount Street.) and
the east side (3012 and 3004 Fairmount Street office buildings.). Please see Exhibit A at the end
of this letter, outlining the applicant's property (yellow) and Alamo Manhattan's properties (red).
Our company is heavily invested in this area of Uptown and has worked hard over the years to
help create a dynamic, safe, and clean environment for residents and pedestrians. ‘The link between
liquor stores and violent crime is well established and we strongly oppose introducing this land
use in our neighborhood. We have made significant financial and communal investment in the
immediate area and expect to continue to do so. However, the addition of the proposed liquor
store would meaningfully undermine our investment and the quality of life of our neighbors.
We respectfully request that the Oak Lawn Committee reject this application and recommend that
it also be rejected by the City Planning Commission and the City Council,
Respectfully Submitted,
U3 —
