Price Increase Verbiage
You can do this! Here is the verbiage I want you to practice, based on each
scenario. Use the blank space on page 2 to draft up your own if you're feeling
inspired!

General Price Increase:

"Sarah, I just wanted to let you know that I had a price increase. You have
been paying $150 for your services, so that's what I'll charge you today and
then next visit will be $160."

Moving Salons & Need An Increase:

“Hey Sarah! I am so excited to have you here in my new salon space. I have always
wanted to provide the best possible experience for my guests, and I know this is the
place to make it happen. Because I’ve up-leveled much of my business and the demand
on my time has increased, my prices did shift and your cut and color will now be $140
instead of $130.”

Post-Pandemic Price Increase:

“Hey Sarah! I am so excited to be back in the salon doing what I love, and I’ve so missed seeing
you. I’ve actually been working even more on my business while I was away from the salon than
ever before and because of that the demand on my schedule has increased. Because of that, my
prices did shift and your cut and color will now be $140 instead of $130. The industry as a
whole has changed dramatically, and you’ll find this happening throughout the industry as a way
we can continue to offer the best to our guests.”

If a client is upset about a price increase:

“I completely understand where you are coming from. While I love having you as a
part of my business, if you decide we aren’t a good fit anymore, I respect that
decision completely. Just know my chair and door is always open to you, and I
hope we can continue to work together.”
