Introduction
WHAT IS LESSON PLAN?
A lesson plan is a detailed outline that teachers use to
organize and structure their instructional activities. It
typically includes learning objectives, instructional
materials, teaching strategies, assessment methods, and a
timeline for the lesson. The goal is to provide a clear guide
for effective teaching and learning.
OBJECTIVES
• refer to thorough descriptions of what your students should accomplish
during a class. These course outlines should be simple, brief, and factual
statements regarding what your students should achieve.

Cognitive: This is the most commonly used domain. It deals with the
intellectual side of learning.
Affective: This domain includes objectives relating to interest, attitude, and
values relating to learning the information.
Psychomotor: This domain focuses on motor skills and actions that require
physical coordination.
SUBJECT MATTER
• The subject matter includes the specific topic and how that relates back to the
National Curriculum. It should include the sources of information or references -
whether that is websites, textbooks or some other material. It likely also lists any
objects or tools teachers may use to enhance their lessons.

• Subject matter or specific topic includes sources of information, e.g., textbooks and
library references.
LESSON PROPER
• A lesson proper, also known as the main body of a lesson, is the central part
of a lesson plan where the actual teaching and learning activities take place.

• An effective lesson makes the class more interesting. It allows the students
to grow more interested in the subject matter and they participate in active
conversation. This interaction gets the students thinking and helps them build
new skills. Engaging lessons helps the students to concentrate more.
EVALUATION
• Evaluation can be carried out through various methods such as
formative assessment and summative assessment. Additionally,
evaluation helps teachers identify areas where students may need
additional support or enrichment.
ASSIGNMENT
• The purpose of including assignments in a lesson plan is to provide students with
an opportunity to apply and reinforce the knowledge and skills they have learned
during the lesson. Assignments help to assess students' understanding of the
material, allow for individual practice and skill development, and provide a means
for teachers to give feedback and evaluate student progress.
