S8P4f Properties of waves and energy

In this activity, you will ne describe a wave by its Amplitude, by its Wavelength, and by its
Frequency. You can complete this activity individually or work in pairs.

Learning Expectations:
At the end of this activity, scholars will have produced four examples of waves. Scholars will be
able to identify wavelengths . Scholars will be able to define amplitude . Scholars will be able to
identify which model has the highest and lowest frequency.

Students should be able to answer the following questions:

 What is the difference between amplitude and wavelength?
 How is a high frequency wave different from a low frequency wave?

Complete the following challenges by coding your agent to:

 Create a wave with a higher or lower frequency
 Create a wave with a different amplitude
 Build a wave with a longer or shorter wavelength
 Build a wave and label the parts with slates or signs.

Explain:
1. What is the difference between amplitude and wavelength?

2. How is a high frequency wave difference from a low frequency wave?
