HEAVEN OR HELL CONTRASTED
Is there really a Hell?
Read Rev. 21:8;
Hell described... what really is it like? A second death. Not
physical like the first but spiritual
A burning lake... fire and brimstone... agony, torment
Who are the inhabitants? .... Murderers, immoral persons,
sorcerers, idolaters, liars.
Heaven, what kind of place is it?
Read Rev. 21:10, 19-21 .Heaven described, .what is it like?
The New Jerusalem... everywhere we look everything we have
always considered of value. .They is all common places.

How does one get to Heaven and not to Hell?
Introduce: Salvation; Only through God’s righteousness
Remember what we have studied so far... one cannot get to
heaven on the strength of one's own righteousness.
Rom. 3.23 We have all sinned and fall short
Rom. 6:23 the wages of sin is death
One gets to heaven only on the strength of God's
righteousness truly given to us through Jesus
Christ.
Romans 1:16-17 - The. Good News... God's
Righteousness has been given
Phil. 3:9 " A righteousness not from own self Effort, but one
that comes from God.
2Cor.5:12 A. Gift it clothes us with righteousness that is
acceptable.

ILLUSTRATION:
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Do you remember the gripping scene in the animated
Disney film Beauty and the Beast when the Beast was about to
confess his love to Belle? Cogsworth looked on with euphoric
anticipation, for if Belle pledged her love to the Beast, presto! The
spell that hung over the castle like a dark dank cloud of doom
would finally be broken. As the clasped hands with the Beast,
Belle asked permission to gaze into the magical mirror in order to
see her father. Viewing her father in obvious distress, she dropped
the mirror and grasped at his plight. “I’ve got to go to him,” she
sobbed. “Go to him, then,” The Beast responded. Thos four words
spoke volumes. Cogsworth later walked into the room with an air
of triumphant expectancy as he declared to the Beast, “I must say
these things are going swimmingly.” All hope vanished into thin
air, however, when the Beast uttered the most significant line in
the film. “I let her go,” he confessed to his enchanted little clock.
As the reality of those words sunk in, Cogsworth shook himself
and asked, “You did what?” Can you imagine the impact of the
Beast’s admission?” To let her go was to plunge his kingdom into
another season of a cursed existence. TO let her go meant that all
hope was lost of ever becoming normally human again. To let her
go meant that he forfeited his last, best chance of ever being loved.
But he let her go. Why? “I had to,” he said. “I loved her.” The
Beast understood that a lover does not hold the object of his love
hostage to his possessive grasp. Perhaps some would not believe
there was hell, but you could only think about it. Nothing will
happen if you don’t believe or if you believe! But wait till you get
there.
