Honorable delegates, esteemed colleagues,

Today, I stand before you as the representative of the resilient nation of Nepal, a country that has
endured its share of challenges, particularly during the civil war. Our experience has shaped our
perspective on the detention and deportation of displaced people, and we bring forth concrete
measures that reflect our commitment to humane solutions.

In the face of adversity, Nepal implemented inclusive and transparent dialogue to resolve internal
conflicts. We engaged in comprehensive peace talks that sought to address the root causes of
displacement. This process, albeit challenging, paved the way for the safe return and rehabilitation of
affected populations.

Nepal recognizes the importance of international cooperation in handling displacement crises. We

have actively participated in regional initiatives, fostering collaboration to ensure the protection of
displaced individuals and their rights. Our nation believes that shared responsibility and burden-
sharing are fundamental principles in addressing the global challenge of displaced populations.

Honorable delegates,

Nepal proudly shares its 14-year journey promoting human rights, actively engaging in international
forums, and aiding nations like Jordan, Maldives, Rwanda, and Uganda in developing robust
Complaint Management Systems. Our National Human Rights Commission has played a pivotal role,
hosting and maintaining websites for all NHRIs globally.

At home, we've undertaken multifaceted measures to instill a human rights culture. From awareness
programs, training, and publications to impactful seminars, our commitment is unwavering. Recent
initiatives include direct interactions in 28 districts, focusing on key areas like food security,
education, health, and custodial justice. This outreach underscores our dedication to grassroots
understanding and amplifying awareness.

Nepal stands as a beacon for human rights, committed nationally and internationally. Our
collaborative efforts and strides exemplify our commitment to building a world where human rights
are integral to societal fabric.

Thank you.

globally to share the responsibility of managing displaced populations. Humanitarian aid and
development initiatives are pivotal, ensuring displaced individuals receive essential support while
