DISCOVERY QUESTIONS
This kinds of question help the group members to interact and
discover or get the truths they may not have known before about
the text under consideration. It identifies what the passage is
saying and the facts in the passage.
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
The next step is to determine what your discovery means. That is,
the question purposely help to discern what the text means. It is
not the job of the leader to tell the group what the passage means
but to ask the kind of question that will cause the answer to
surface from the group member’s response.
Notwithstanding, a good leader would have done research into
the meaning of the passage in order to guide the group in the
right direction. The tool that can help such leaders are good Bible
Dictionary, Concordance and Bible Commentary. Yet the leader
should enable the group to determine the definition which the
author had in mind.
CORELLATION QUESTION
The essence of this question is to relate the passage we are
studying to other passages and to see how various truths relate to
one another.
The question helps to shed more light on the issue from other
parts of the word of God. It increases understanding and develops
new truth.
THE BRIEF
Faith is actually the pillar of Christianity, without faith, there is no
Christianity. Although faith is a gift but it can be naturally
acquired also. It is faith that consumes restlessness, to therefore
have REST, you must acquire Faith.
The graph below explains further:
Faith Rest Divine Intervention Divine
Manifestation
Transformation
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What are you able to discover about the place of rest in
manifesting in life?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by Transformation as indicated in the
graph?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How have you applied or plan to apply what you have learnt in
your life?
CONCLUSION
Having seen the importance of Faith to Christianity, you are to
seek God to possess the spirit of Faith in your life
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let me have rest in your ability and not in the ability of
man
THE BRIEF
We saw last week that faith is actually the pillar of Christianity,
this week; we need to now know what faith really is.
Here are few definitions of Faith as recorded in the Bible and as
given by men of God:
i. Faith is practical expression of confidence in God and
His Word- Heb. 10: 35- 38, Gen. 12: 1 - 4
ii. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen - Heb. 11: 1
iii. Faith is the believer's spiritual antenna to 'see' or 'hear'
beyond the natural dimension
iv. Faith is the victory that has overcome the world - 1st
John 5: 4 - you are sure of victory if you can operate in
faith
v. Faith is the link between humanity and Divinity -
Romans 4: 3
In all these definitions, you will see that faith is an action, but
based on and activated by the Word of God
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What do you discover about faith from the definitions?
CORRELATION QUESTION
How can you correlate Romans 4: 3 with the definition?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you plan to apply any of these definitions to your life in
any area?
CONCLUSION
Having seen these few definitions of Faith, you will see that faith
is vital to a believer's life
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let the spirit of Faith be established in my life.
THE BRIEF
We have been able to see that faith is action-based and it relies
on the Word of God. This week we will be looking at two words
that mean nearly the same thing but one of them operates with
faith (based on the Word) while the other promotes the idea of
the world.
What is Fact?
This is true-life situation i.e., seeing things as they really are or
what all your five senses are saying. It is something that can be
proved. It is what people are saying about a situation or person. It
is the Doctor’s reports, Lawyer’s reports, Teacher’s reports,
Lecturer’s reportsthat are negative about a person. For instance, a
lecturer may say you cannot pass his course, that is the fact, but
what do you believe?
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about the differences between fact and
truth?
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation between these two elements and the
reports of the twelve spies sent by Moses to Canaan land
(Numbers 13: 1 – end, 14: 1 – 10)?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by the word Truth as explained in this
teaching?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you intend to begin to apply the lessons learnt from this
teaching in your life permanently?
CONCLUSION
Now that you have seen that the perspective of God is different
from the perspective of man, you will need to align your life to the
Divine perspective in order to live according to the truth
PRAYER POINT
My Father, let your truth prevail in my life over every facts of man
THE BRIEF
We saw earlier that Faith is obtainable; this means that it is not
full or complete at the time you obtained it. This week, we will see
how to nurture, work on or grow our faith to maturity
In the text, Jesus called Peter “o ye of little faith” it means faith is
in measures, you cannot therefore afford to remain at one level of
faith the whole of your life – Romans 12: 3
Let’s see how to nurture our faith to maturity:
i. Listening to the Word of God regularly – Rom. 10: 17
ii. Meditating on the word regularly – Joshua 1: 8
iii. Studying the Word, including books and tracts about
God – 2nd Timothy 2: 15
iv. Praying in the Holy Ghost – Jude 20
v. Constant exercise of faith
– Speaking the word over all situations
– Obeying God’s word
– Enduring trials (James 1: 12)
– Praying without ceasing
vi. Dedication – the more dedicated you are to God, the
more productive your faith will be
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What were you able to discover about the measure of Faith today?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by nurturing of faith?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you intend to apply any of the steps to nurturing your
faith?
CONCLUSION
Now that we have seen that Faith has measures and can be
nurtured to maturity, let us take all the necessary steps as taught
today so that our faith can grow and increase, which will make
God happy with us and also for us to obtain the fullness of the
purpose of God for us
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, empower my faith to grow and increase from now
forward.
THE BRIEF
What are Confessions? Confessions are bold statements made by
the reason of a personal encounter with the revealed Word of God
or as a result of revelation from the word of God.
It is a principle that we can find in the Bible from the book of
Genesis to Revelation e.g., in Genesis 1: 3, what God did was a
confession through His Word which is spiritual things that are not
seeing to bring about the earth which are seeing. In our text also,
we see that our confession is based on whatHe (God) has said.
Let’s now see the rules and laws that guide our confession for it to
work:
i. Discipline yourself to say what God is saying – say what
God is saying about you
ii. Adapt your confession to suit your particular situation
iii. Change the facts by applying the Truth in the word of
God
iv. Make scriptures valid in your life by continually
speaking the word
v. Call the things that be not as though they are – Rom. 4:
17c
vi. Wait patiently on God
vii. Follow your confession with appropriate actions
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation of today’s teaching with the statement of
Joshua when he took over the leadership of Israel (Joshua 1: 10 –
11)?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by “Adapt your confession to suit your
particular situation”?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you intend to apply the laws of confession to your life
from today?
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, Confession basically talks about what you say with
your mouth either consciously or unconsciously, but now that
you’ve seen the importance of your words either to yourself or
others, you need to take cognizance of what you say by applying
the laws of confession as you’ve learnt today
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, empower the words of my mouth to be positive and
impactful in my life from today
THE BRIEF
Faith can be boosted or expanded, this is different from just
making our faith to grow, but rather, for our faith to operate with
other virtues like Love and hope. This week we will see the faith
boosters and also vices that can kill faith:
Faith boosters
i. Love – 1st Cor. 13: 2, 13 – faith is useless without love
because faith works by love – Gal. 5: 6
ii. Commitment – dedication to God and His kingdom
iii. Forgiveness – this is very important for faith to expand in
your life. In fact you can even practice advance
forgiveness, knowing that anybody can offend you and you
have forgiven before the offence comes – Mark 11: 25, Matt.
6: 13 – 14
iv. Single-mindedness – this means when you have faith in
God, you must not have alternatives, He only must be your
focus – Matt. 6: 22
v. Righteousness
vi. Patience – Hebrew 10: 35 – 36
vii. Patience and Thanksgiving – Ps. 67: 6 – 7, John 11: 41
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about the boosting of Faith today?
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation of the faith killers and the statement in
Numbers 10: 31 – 33?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What understanding do you have about the elements to boost
your faith?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How will you apply the Faith boosters and avoid the faith killers
from today?
CONCLUSION
To conclude on the matter of Faith, we have seen that it is not a
virtue that stands alone, other virtues need to operate along with
it in our lives, which we have seen in today’s study. Also, there are
certain things that we must not allow in our lives if we really want
our faith to continue to exist, called faith killers. Therefore, from
today, let us put everything in place for us to operate in faith in
deed
PRAYER POINT
I pray oh Lord; from today I receive grace to apply the faith
boosters to my life in Jesus name
THE BRIEF
The life and story of Abraham, one of the patriarchs in the Bible, is
so interesting that every Christian all over the world cannot but
study and learn from it. Not because of where he came from, but
because of his response to God’s calling even when he never
heard of the God of Israel, but he acted in faith. No wonder he was
called a righteous man (Heb.11:8).
The calling of God is a call to be separated for a particular
assignment that God Himself decides. When he heard the voice of
God, Abram, (before God changed his name) at God’s command,
left home, and went to another land obeying without questioning
(Genesis 12:1). He believed the covenant that God made with him
(Genesis 12:2-3), and walked with God wholeheartedly that he was
called a friend. Do not be shocked if God asks you to give up
secure, familiar surroundings to where you’ve not been in order to
carry out His will.
Your own calling may not be like that of Abraham to leave where
you are staying physically, nevertheless following Christ requires
absolute trust in God and total concentration on the course of the
gospel.
UNDERSTANDING QUESTIONS
1. What do you understand about the Calling of God?
CORRELATION QUESTIONS
1. What is the correlation between these Bible verses,
Matt10:38; Mark10:21 and today’s lesson?
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. How can you know when God is calling you?
2. How will you respond?
CONCLUSION
When God calls, background is not considered, it will be for a
purpose and the purpose will not be hidden. Through Abram’s
family tree, Jesus Christ was born to save humanity. Through
Christ, people can have a personal relationship with God and be
blessed beyond measure.
Don’t let the comfort and security of your present position make
you to lose God’s plan for you.
PRAYER POINT
1. Holy Spirit, help me to understand my assignment on heart
in Jesus Name.
2. Father in heaven, give me the grace to yield when you call
me for any assignment.
THE BRIEF
Separation in the kingdom of God is a very vital issue. To be
separated means to part with worldly things so as to concentrate
on God’s plan. God Himself in most cases prompts the separation
for His purpose. Facing a potential conflict with his nephew Lot,
because God didn’t ask him to take anybody with him, so there
was a necessary separation with Lot for him to have total
concentration on God.
God had a plan to get Abram’s attention, and immediately Abram
was separated with Lot, God spoke to Him and showed him his
future (Genesis13:14 – 15). The first lesson to be learned here is to
always give God total obedience by following His instructions to
the last. Secondly, we must recognize those people or things that
are taking our attention away from hearing from and knowing His
next plan for us.
DISCOVERY QUESTIONS
1. What was the outcome of Abraham’s separation with Lot?
CORRELATION QUESTIONS
1. What is correlation between this Bible verses 2Cor 6:17, Act
13:2, and today’s lesson?
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. Look into your life, what are the things diverting your
attention away from that you need to separate from?
CONCLUSION
It is important to note that God’s purposes sometimes are
discovered after separation either with conflicts or not, but this
doesn’t mean we should now be causing conflict because we want
to leave where we are. It is God Himself that brings about the
needed conflicts. Ours is to discern at such a time.
PRAYER POINT
1. Lord, help me to note and respond to the needed
separation in my life.
THE BRIEF
Part of the package of the covenant that God cut with Abraham
was to have an heir through whom the promise of descendants
like the stars in the sky or the grains of sand too numerous to
count be fulfilled. Despite the practical demonstration to
Abraham of what God had in plan for him, the timing was too long
for Sarah, and she went back to tradition which her husband to
whom the promise was made also bought into.
Sarah took matters into her own hands by giving Hagar to
Abraham who acted in line with the custom of the day, but his
action showed a lack of faith that God would fulfill his promise.
Their response to delay, apart from going against the will of God
brought to them a series of problems. This always happens when
we take over from God, trying to force His promise to come true
through efforts that are not in line with His commands. In this
case, time was the greatest test of Abraham and Sarah’s
willingness to let God work in their lives. We also must learn to
wait. When we ask God for something and it appears it is coming
late, it is a total disbelief in God to take matters into our own
hands and meddle with God’s plans.
UNDERSTANDING QUESTIONS
1. In your own understanding, why is tradition dangerous to
Christianity?
CORRELATION QUESTIONS
1. Relate these Bible verses, 2Peter 3:9a; Heb.10:37 with
today’s lesson.
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. How have you responded to delay in your life before?
Share your experience with the class and the outcome of
your then action(s)?
CONCLUSION
A right relationship with God is based on faith. What is needed to
stand in times of delay is the heartfelt inner confidence that God
is who He says He is, and does what he says He will do.
PRAYER POINT
1. My father and my God, help my faith to stand while waiting
for promise fulfillment.
THE BRIEF
Having the habits of seeking the good of others and making them
comfortable is a great virtue that every child of God must possess.
Not only because it pleases God when we do so, but also because
the reward afterward can bea life time opportunity. This was the
story of Abraham here when he entertained strangers without the
prior knowledge of whom they were and where they were coming
from.
Abraham and his wife’s attitude toward those strangers are
worthy of note. They were very accommodating and respectful to
them; forgetting his age and strength, Abraham ran to meet them,
and with all due courtesy bowed himself towards the ground,
though he never knew nothing of them. No wonder they got their
promised son. How many times have you missed God promises
due to your stinginess and wrong attitude to helping people? You
can change today.
The Holy Spirit takes particular notice of the very free and
affectionate welcome Abraham gave to the strangers. So, He, does
today because it’s a command and not a choice (Heb. 13:2). God
graciously visits those who do not look away from those in need
either they know them or not, and manifests himself to them here
on earth and in heaven (Mat 25:35-40).
UNDERSTANDING QUESTIONS
1. Why is it difficult to do like Abraham did today, especially
in Nigeria?
2. How can we maintain balance in order not to send away
our helpers?
CORRELATION QUESTIONS
1. What is the correlation between these Bible verses and
todays’ teaching; Matt 25:36-44,Act 9:36-41, Heb. 6:12?
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
1. Tell the congregation your experience about entertaining
strangers or help the needy; either positive or negative.
CONCLUSION
Meeting another’s need for food or shelter was and still is one of
the most immediate and practical ways to please God (Heb. 13:16).
It is expected of those God has blessed to be liberal and open-
hearted in their entertainments, according to their ability.
Hebrews 13:2 suggests that we, like Abraham, might actually
entertain angels. This thought should be on our minds the next
time we have the opportunity to meet a stranger’s needs.
PRAYER POINT
1. Holy Spirit, give me the Spirit of discernment to know the
right help to give that will not lead to trouble and when to
hold back.
THE BRIEF
Abraham’s life was characterized with faith. At God’s command, he
left home and went to another land that he knew not; obeying
without questioning (Genesis 12:1). Here he headed to Mamre to
sacrifice his only son of promise, still without insinuating an act of
wickedness by God. If we must walk with God the way that pleases
Him, we must have the Abraham kind of faith.
Here is the test of Abraham's faith, whether he continued so
strong after he left his country when he showed that he loved God
more than his father; now to see if he loved Him better than his
long-awaited son. But in obedience to God, Abraham was even
willing to sacrifice his son Isaac.
God tested Abraham, not to watch him fall, for it is only Satan who
is seeking to devour Christians (I Peter 5:8), but to increase his
faith and deepen his capacity to obey God and thus to develop his
character. Just as fire refines minerals to bring out beautiful gold
and precious metals, God refines us through difficult
circumstances. When we are tested, we must not complain,
instead we should see how God is stretching us to develop our
character, because strong faith is usually recognized through
strong trials (Rom 8:28).
UNDERSTANDING QUESTIONS
1. What do you understand about Trial or Test of Faith?
2. Why do Christians go through trials?
CORRELATION QUESTIONS
What is the correlation between these Bible references, I Peter 1:7,
Psalm 50:9, Heb. 11: 8-11 and today’s lesson?
APPLICATION QUESTION
1. How can we come out of test of faith victorious?
CONCLUSION
God did not want Isaac to die, but he wanted Abraham to sacrifice
Isaac in his heart so it would be clear that Abraham loved God
more than he loved his promised and long-awaited son. God was
testing Abraham. The purpose of testing is to strengthen our
character and deepen our commitment to God. Through this
difficult experience, Abraham strengthened his commitment to
obey God. He also learned about God’s ability to provide.
PRAYER POINT
God give the grace to trust you more.
THE BRIEF
Our God works in diverse ways and manners and at different times
and seasons, He can also make use of men and women for the
things He wants to do on earth. In this new series, we will be
studying about the workings of God from different perspectives,
hoping and believing that we will learn from the series and be
blessed.
In the creation of the heaven and the earth, we see God working
to create the things that are in the world, He did all the works of
creation by speaking the word (the speaking ability of God) but
when it was time to create man, He entered into another
dimension of His nature when He called on other members of the
Godhead into a council meeting to create man in His image and
likeness, we also notice that there is the seeing ability of God
displayed in this text.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
How many times is ‘God’ mentioned in this passage?
How many times did God speak in the whole passage?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by the seeing ability of God and how is it
displayed in the passage?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you intend to put up any of the characteristics/abilities of
God discussed in this lesson?
CONCLUSION
We have seen few of the characteristics/abilities of God – creative,
speaking and seeing abilities, and God made man in His image
and likeness, it is a pointer to what He placed inside of you when
He created you, you can also do it
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let me be like you in reality!
THE BRIEF
Last week we saw that God works in diverse ways and these ways
indicate His abilities – speaking, seeing and creating – which we
learnt that we can also partake of or manifest in our lives.
In today’s text, we discover that the works of God are wonderful;
He also does His works in all realms/areas of life – He turned
rivers into wilderness, water-springs into dry grounds, a fruitful
land into barren land, for the wickedness of them that dwell
therein, and there He maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may
prepare a city for habitation; we can see that the work of God
covers: water, human, trees, lands, animals etc.
This is an indication that the works of God are not limited to a
particular sphere or realm, it goes into all areas of life, the
authority of God can be unleashed and manifested in all and any
area of life – physical, psychological and spiritual, in other words,
there is no situation or circumstance that you cannot take to God
in prayers
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What were you able to discover about what God can do?
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation of all the works of God with all the works
that Jesus did while physically on earth?
APPLICATION QUESTION
Have you experienced the work of God in your life before?
How have you experienced the work of God in your life?
CONCLUSION
in conclusion, since God created all things by His creative ability
and power, then we should understand that all things everywhere
can experience His power at any time. There is nothing He does
not know about and He can solve all problems no matter the
realm it is originating from
PRAYER POINT
My Father, let everything created by you function together for my
good
THE BRIEF
Before we look at the list of names of these mighty men with
David, we need to study their beginning, this will give us a clearer
understanding of who they were before they became mighty men
as we see them in this passage: 1st Samuel 22: 1 – 2, emphasis on
verse 2 “And every one that was in distress, and every one that was
in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves
unto him; and he became a captain over them” looking at this
verse shows that these people had a very rough beginning, but
when they got to David, God used him to train them.
These men who were in Distress, in Debt and Discontented with
their lives were given hope, training and empowerment until they
became vessels for God’s work, they were able to do what David
did in killing wild animals and giants. Their story still continues to
the next chapter (12) where further details were given about them,
studying about their lives shows that they were vessels for God’s
work as they became the Army for the Kingdom of Israel under the
kingship of David
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about the list of names in this text?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by this: Distress, Debt and Discontented
with their lives?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you plan to apply the lifestyle of David in your life from
today?
CONCLUSION
to conclude this week, vessels for God’s works are picked and
chosen by Him from any source, and whoever He picks He polishes
to show forth His glory and grace, these men were taken from
grass to grace by the man after God’s own heart, you can also do
the same
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord I receive grace to train and empower people to become
vessels for God’s work
THE BRIEF
Last week we saw that those that were in the army of the kingdom
of Israel as organized by King David, were called mighty men of
valor and they carried out their duty as such. This week, we will be
looking at how we can also become mighty men or vessels of the
kingdom of God, though we are not expected to carry out our
duties as they did in killing and doing physical activities, our own
duty is basically spiritual in nature.
You must know first and foremost that you are a vessel unto God,
until you know this; you cannot play the role of a vessel (2nd Cor. 4:
7). The next thing to do according to the text is: Depart from
iniquity, and then you must Purge yourself from negative
things/thoughts, when you therefore do these things, you will be
sanctified (you don’t get sanctified by yourself, it is God that does
it) and He will make you meet and prepared for His works.
God has a lot of works to do on the earth, but He needs sanctified,
meet and prepared vessels to carry out these works on His behalf
here and now.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about the role of man in God’s works?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by: Depart from iniquity?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you plan to work as a vessel for God’s work?
What do you need to be purged from in your life?
CONCLUSION
In concluding this series, we have seen that God needs man to
carry out most of His works on earth, He made use of some people
in the Old/New Testament, but in this dispensation, He needs
people like you and I, and we have seen the requirements to
qualify for these assignments, therefore make yourself available
for this great work of God, wherever you are located, release
yourself to God and He will use you for His glory
PRAYER POINT
My Father, I release myself unto you, make me a vessel unto your
glory and let
THE BRIEF:
The Church is defined in the following ways:
i. The body of Christ – 1st Cor. 12: 12
ii. The Called-Out Ones – this is the meaning of the Greek
word for Church, which is ‘Ecclesia’
iii. The Purchased Possession – Eph. 1: 14
From these definitions, we can see that the Church is both an
individual and group of people; it is not a building, whether very
big or very small
Let us now see the characteristics that the Church (individual or
group) must display in order to manifest as Jesus expects His
Church to manifest:
i. The Church must be Living – as long as the Founder and
head of the Church is Living, His body on earth must
also be living
ii. The Church must be Active – it is a slap on the church
when the power of darkness is ruling where the church
of God is present
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION:
What do you understand by the Church?
CORRELATION QUESTION:
How did the Church operate in the Old Testament, compare Israel
with the Church
CONCLUSION:
The Church is not a denomination, the Church is not a name, but it
is rather the part of Christ He left on earth to keep people till He
comes back for them
PRAYER:
Oh Lord, revive your Church in this world
THE BRIEF:
In continuation of our study on the Church, let us look further at
the characteristics of the Church:
i. The Church must be Responsive – this means that there
are certain responses the church is expected to give
concerning the situations and circumstances around it
– Acts 4: 23 – 33; 6: 1 – 7
ii. The Church must be Impactful – the church, either as
individual or group cannot be in a place and we will not
see its impact, the church is established to be of
positive impact – Acts 16: 20
iii. The Church must be Life-Transforming – whoever
comes in contact with the Church or vice-versa must
encounter transformation. As a Church, wherever you
are, destinies must be touched and transformed
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION:
What do you understand by characteristics of the Church?
CORRELATION QUESTION:
How do you think the church can be impactful?
APPLICATION QUESTION:
How do you, as a person, want to apply these lessons to your life?
PRAYER:
Oh Lord, empower your Church to be able to influence the world
for you
THE BRIEF:
It is possible for other groups or religions to have impact, to be
responsive and to be active, but understanding these specific and
peculiar qualities of the Church will make us understand the
depth and strength of the word of Jesus about building His Church
and the gates of hell not prevailing
We will therefore look at and study the qualities of the Church
from this week:
i. The Church is Mysterious – The conception, birth, death
and resurrection of Jesus remain a mystery and so is
the Church that He founded, mystery is something that
is beyond understanding and explanation. You cannot
understand how the Church operates, that is why it is a
mystery, but to those in the church, it is revealed by
the Spirit of God
ii. The Church is Supernatural and Spiritual – When
something is supernatural, it means it is beyond the
natural realm, the Church is therefore not a man-led
organization, but a Spirit-led organization and
organism that operates in the spirit realm
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION:
What do you understand by the qualities of the Church?
APPLICATION QUESTION:
How can the Church (individual or group) operate in the
supernatural realm?
CONCLUSION:
The church is meant to be a Light to the world, its growth,
expansion and operations should therefore go beyond
explanation
PRAYER:
Oh Lord, let your Church receive Grace to operate supernaturally
afresh
THE BRIEF:
In order to really see the Church as it is in the eyes of Jesus, we
need to probe further into its qualities:
i. The Church is a Place of Encounter – everyone that
came across Jesus and later the Apostles had an
encounter with the power of God. It is expected that
this should be the daily activities in the Church,
encounters like: salvation, healing, deliverance etc. are
expected to take place in the Church
ii. The Church is a Reflection of Heaven on Earth – The
Church is representing God, standing to enforce His
kingdom on earth, it should therefore be a reflection of
heaven on earth i.e., in Glory, power, influence, wealth,
health, wisdom, knowledge etc.
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION:
What is meant to be the role of the members of the church as a
reflection of heaven on earth?
CORRELATION QUESTION:
Describe one or two encounters of Jesus or His Apostles with
people
APPLICATION QUESTION:
How can the church in the now bring encounter to play?
PRAYER:
My Father, let my life be a reflection of heaven on earth in all
ramifications
THE BRIEF
In this new series, we will be studying about spiritual maturity,
which is a very vital aspect of our Christian life, irrespective of the
level you are in life. It is an abomination for a child that is born
into this world not to grow or mature in size and stature. This is
also the same in the spirit realm. We will therefore be looking at
spiritual maturity from different perspectives in the next few
weeks and hope that we all will begin and continue to mature in
the spirit realm
What is maturity?
According to the dictionary, maturity is the state of being mature
or full development. But according to the scripture, it is the state
of having deeper understanding of the move of the Spirit and
having spiritual awareness and sensitivity.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about maturing in the spirit through this

UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you now understand by Spiritual Maturity through
today’s teaching?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How will you see maturity from today in your life?
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, no one that comes to Christ is expected to remain
at the same level of spirituality; there is need for growth and
maturity because God has already made provision for it
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let me not remain stagnant in spiritual journey in your
kingdom.
THE BRIEF
We saw the meaning of spiritual and maturity last week, probing
further into this, we will see some facts about what spiritual
maturity means:
Spiritual maturity is about growing in the revelation of the
knowledge of the scriptures
Spiritual maturity is about being more sensitive to the move of
the Spirit of God
Spiritual maturity is about encountering supernatural
transformation in your way of life - attitude, character and
behavior
Spiritual maturity is all about knowing what God is saying per
time and doing what He says you should do, it could be to instruct
you on what to do or correct you for wrong doing
Spiritual maturity is about having unhindered access to the
immortal realms
Spiritual maturity is about growing in Authority in the spirit realm
which manifests in the physical realm
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What more did you discover about spiritual maturity?
CORRELATION QUESTION
i. What’s the correlation between the life of Peter when
Jesus was with the disciples and after Pentecost?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
i. What do you understand by immortal realms?
ii. What else do you understand in today’s study?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you plan to work on any of these definitions to be applied
in your life?
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, having seen the definitions of spiritual maturity, we
will see that it is not about how old you are or your gender,
whoever you are, once you are able to access all or any of these
things that we have seen as the definitions of spiritual maturity,
then you can grow in spiritual stature just like Jesus did
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, give me strength to pursue my maturity in the spiritual
realm
THE BRIEF
We have seen various definitions of spiritual maturity in the last
two weeks, there is need to understand that you don’t get to that
level or phase in one day, today, we will be looking at the three
levels of spiritual status that a person can pass through to rise
into maturity
According to the text we read today, we have three levels of
spiritual status highlighted in it, which are: “fathers or matured
believers”, ”young men or maturing believers” and “children or
infants”
The beginning or first stage of Christian or spiritual life is that of
an infant who as yet has not understood much of anything except
that he knows that he is saved. He does not understand the
spiritual life – this is irrespective of your age. To grow out of this
level, you must crave for the sincere milk of the word (1st Peter 2:
2)
The second stage in the spiritual or Christian life is the maturing
believer, denoted by the expression “young men.” This can also be
translated as ‘youth.’ The difference between the infant and
maturing believer is knowledge of the word of GOD and his
experience indicates victory over sin and the world on a more
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What have discovered about spiritual status in the kingdom?
CORRELATION QUESTION
How can you compare 1st John 2: 9 – 14 with 1st Corinthians 2: 14 –
16/3: 1?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by the word ‘Infant’ as used in this
teaching?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you intend to grow in your spiritual life from the level you
are now?
CONCLUSION
To conclude, we can see that the life in the spirit is in phases and
having seen the phases and levels, there is need to improve and
develop in our journey with the Lord. How long you stay at a level
depends on you, the more you love and submit to the Holy Spirit,
the faster you grow to a higher spiritual level
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, I pray that you help me to grow in you.
THE BRIEF
Today, we will be looking at the three stages to mature in as a
believer, after you have given your life to Jesus, there is need for
you to be growing on a regular basis, and we will be looking at
these stages:
- Growing in - being rooted and built up in Christ – there is need
for you to ‘grow in’ Christ Jesus. To be rooted means to go deep, it
means you should have depths in God because ‘the deeper your
foundation, the higher your building’ this aspect of maturity is
primarily about you as an individual. This is your ‘knowing level’
- Growing up – this is the next phase of your spiritual growth; you
have to be acting on what you have known about Jesus and His
word, the more you are doing this, the more you grow up in God.
This is your ‘doing level’. Understand that it is possible to be deep
and stagnant, but when you are built up, you are not only deep
but you are also growing up
- Growing out – this is all about reaching out unto others. Until
you are fully grounded on your own, you cannot really be of impact
on others. You grow outwards by teaching, influencing, and
imparting others through the word and your lifestyle
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What were you able to discover about growing in the kingdom?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by: the deeper your foundation, the
higher your building?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How does this teaching apply to your life?
In what way do you want to apply the lessons from this study?
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, these three levels of maturing in Christ are required
for any believer that want to be of impact in the world, you cannot
be a Christian for yourself and neglect other people, you are not
saved to go to heaven alone, you are to help others, but you can
only do that by growing in stature and maturing in Christ Jesus
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, I receive grace to grow in all dimensions of my life
THE BRIEF
This week by God’s grace, we will be looking at the steps you need
to take to achieve your spiritual growth and maturity, these steps
have been tested and proved to be effective, the more you are
able to commit yourself to God, the more you will grow in Him.
There are times the Holy Spirit can or will give instructions to you
to follow for your personal growth.spiritual dwarfism is as
concerned as physical dwarfism.

UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by: Readiness to learn beyond the
doctrines of your church?
APPLICATION QUESTION

CONCLUSION
Conclusively, as important as it is to know the levels of growth or
growing in the spiritual realm, it is not the ultimate, but rather to
take the steps therefore make sure you take the necessary steps
to cause you to grow and mature in the spirit
PRAYER POINT
My Father, right now, I receive power for my spiritual growth
THE BRIEF
We have seen a lot of things about Spiritual Maturity in the
previous weeks and how it can be achieved, this week we will be
looking at the rewards that we stand to gain by maturing or
growing in the spirit
For every step you take in the kingdom, there is always a cause
and effect, so when you submit yourself to spiritual maturity,
there are gains and rewards for you, but understand that the
rewards are mostly spiritual, although they can also manifest in
the physical, these are few of the rewards:
1. You are a Chosen Generation
2. You become a Royal Priest or member of the Priesthood of
heaven
3. You become a Holy nation
4. You become a peculiar person
5. You grow in Authority
6. You obtain favor with God and man
7. Your spiritual capacity is enlarged
8. Your level of scriptural revelation is increased
9. Your level of influence is expanded
10. You are fortified against sin.
CORRELATION QUESTION

Samuel?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
Pick any of the rewards and explain what you understand by it
APPLICATION QUESTION

What are you planning to do to receive any of the rewards?
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, we have seen that Spiritual Maturity is not without
its gains as God did not bring you and I into His kingdom for us to
be used and dumped, but rather to be used and blessed. To
therefore be spiritual does not mean to be untidy or dirty but to
be holy and sanctified (not by power or might) and be meet for
the Master’s use and He has rewards for what He is using you for
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let no power hinder my rewards for my spiritual
assignments
THE BRIEF
Offering is that which is presented. Man can offer Unto himself;
Unto man & Unto God.
Offering unto God is the act of presenting in divine service to God.
Cain and Abel are the first example we see in the scriptures about
giving to God after which giving to God now became a
commandment to the children of Israel in Exodus 25:2-3. We saw
different figures who gave to God in the scripture to mention but a
few; David; Solomon; Hannah; Early Christians.
Offering unto God goes beyond just given just anything, it must
follow a regular pattern of
An offering without blemish – Lev. 3:1
Offering made by fire – Exo. 29:18
Sweet savor unto the Lord and not to please man – Lev. 1:3
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What are you able to discover about offering unto the Lord?
CORRELATION QUESTION
What's the correlation of the text and the incident in Gen.22?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How have you applied or plan to apply what you have learnt in
your life?
CONCLUSION
Having seen what offering is, you are to seek God to help you give
an acceptable offering to Him.
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let me have rest in your ability to give as you have given
unto me
THE BRIEF
There is no bigger or more than what God has offered us “Jesus –
Christ”. He has given you more than you can offer unto him but
desires that we also offer unto him to prove our love and how well
we hold him in high esteem as our Lord.
What to offer
We are to offer the best of what we have with the best part of us
“a willing heart” not for show off but unto God for us to enjoy the
fulfillment of the promises that follows. Looking at the story of
the poor widow in Luke 21:3-4,we will see that the Lord cherishes
it more when it is from the heart rather than when we do it out of
compulsion. Ananias and Sapphira Acts 5:1-11
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What do you discover about bigness and awesomeness of who
God has offered unto us?
CORRELATION QUESTION
How can you correlate Gen. 4:4 with Luke 21: 3 – 4?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by aWilling heart?
CONCLUSION
Having seen that what was offered is greater or more than we can
offer then we see that nothing is too much to offer to God
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let the spirit of giving be established in my life.
THE BRIEF
Tithe represent the tenth part of anything but approximately the
tenth part of your increase arising from the profit of your business
or your income. It is considered a just return to God for His
blessings Gen 28:22 which belongs to God. It is for the work of
God. As it was in Old Testament, the God of New Testament is still
interested in tithe. .. Heb, 7:4-9.
This was first done by the Father of Faith Abraham when He gave
tithe to the king of Salem when he was returning from the
slaughter of Chedorlaomer – Gen. 14:16-20.
Tithe is our part to pay while the Lord will surely fulfill His part of
releasing blessings on us in return, for He is not a man that
should lie neither the son of man that should repent of His words.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about Tithe?
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation between Tithe and offering?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by the word tenth part of your increase?
CONCLUSION
Now that you have seen that the perspective of God is different
from the perspective of man, you will need to align your life to the
Divine perspective in order to live according to the truth
PRAYER POINT
My Father, let your truth prevail in my life over every fact of man
THE BRIEF
It is required that we are faithful in our offering and tithe unto
God because it is unto God who is a rewarder of All and not unto
man.
Ananias and Sapphira, for instance, they were not faithful and
they received the recompense for their actions Acts 5
Cain and Abel
Cain didn’t bring offering that was fat and so his offering and he
himself was rejected of the Lord but Abel was accepted Genesis
4:4.
David
He said how will he give God that which cost him nothing to show
how valuable God is to him 2samuel 24:24
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What were you able to discover about bringing All?
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation between the widow and Ananias and
sapphire and the widow that dropped all she had into the
treasury box
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by rewarder of All?
CONCLUSION
Now that we have seen that the Lord accepts us and what we
bring unto him when it comes from a faithful heart, lets strive to
give faithfully at all times.
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, empower me to give faithfully at all times.
THE BRIEF
In this new series, we will be looking at one of the activities that
take place in the spirit realm on a daily basis, especially in the
lives of the people in the Kingdom of God. These people are
known as the soldiers in the army of the Kingdom and they
experience this activity, you may also have had the experience
before, but you didn’t know what it was, through this study you
will get to know
What is Summoning?
The summoning is an invitation given by God to any of His soldiers
to come into His Pavilion for Him to have a deep fellowship with
the soldier. As a soldier in the Kingdom Army, you can be
summoned by the God of heaven, the King of the Kingdom to His
pavilion for deliberation and or any other purpose
Summoning can also be said to be a call from the Throne room as
experienced by John the Revelator, when he heard a voice from
heaven calling him to come up, in other words, summoning is to
give you a call to a higher level of communion or fellowship with
God
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation between the summoning of John and
Isaiah in chapter 6?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by call from the Throne room?
Is summoning the same thing as going in Trance?
APPLICATION QUESTION
Have you had the kind of experience of John the Revelator before
now?
CONCLUSION
We have seen today what summoning means and what it is meant
for; knowing this will let us know whenever we have such
experience as John had it
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, open my eyes to the reality of heaven
THE BRIEF
We were able to see last week that God can on His own volition or
in His Sovereignty invite or summon a person into His pavilion in
heaven for a reason known to God Himself
The difference between a summoning and Seeking is that, Seeking
is orchestrated by man who is willing to see the face of God (hear
from or know the will of God), while Summoning is divinely
orchestrated by God, this can take place at any time or anywhere
Since it is divinely planned and orchestrated, God can use any
means of His own to launch it, but it could be in any of the
following ways:
- Deep study of the Word
- Seeking His presence
- Dedication or Consecration of oneself to Him
- God’s will or volition
- Divine Encounter
- Heavenly Invasion
These processes will be explained in the coming week
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What were you able to discover about the process of summoning?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by the Sovereignty of God?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How have you experienced the Sovereignty of God in your life?
CONCLUSION
To be summoned by God is one of the most important aspects of
the life of any believer; it aids the spiritual stature of a person and
makes you stable in your Christian journey in life
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let me have a life-transforming encounter with your
presence
THE BRIEF
Last week, we were able to see briefly the ways a person can be
summoned to the presence of God, but this week we will be
looking at the ways in details so that we can also align ourselves
with the process and encounter the summoning of God to His
presence
- Deep study of the Word – when you commit yourself to
studying the Word of God with total concentration on
getting revelation from it, God can decide to invite you to
His presence for deeper understanding of His word
- Seeking His Presence – when you seek the presence of God
through worship, especially in a place where there is no
distraction or disturbance for you
- Dedication or Consecration of oneself to Him – when you
dedicate yourself to God at a time that you know that no
other thing can take your attention, like: lectures, school
activities, cooking or any other thing
- God’s will or volition – this can take place at any time,
whether you know it or not, want it or not, but God needs
your attention in His presence
- Divine Encounter/Heavenly Invasion – when you have an
encounter that surpasses your understanding and
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about how to be summoned?
CORRELATION QUESTION
Is there any correlation between the summoning of Isaiah and
John the Revelator?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by God’s will or volition?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How and when do you wish to align yourself to be summoned by
God?
If you are summoned today will you be willing to go to His
presence?
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, we have seen that God can summon through
various means, but understand that to do any of these things and
be qualified to be summoned, you must be in a relationship with
Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, this is not a religious or doctrinal
activity but rather a scripturally spiritual activity
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, count me worthy for your summoning
THE BRIEF
In our study this week, we will be looking at why God usually
summons people to His presence, we will see various reasons He
does this
I. For Instructions – there are always new instructions from
the Almighty to His children/soldiers, this is to tell them
new things to do and new ways to do what He wants them
to do it. Instructions are the gateways to manifestation, so
every time God gives an instruction, He expects that it will
lead the soldier to a new level after the instruction is
followed or carried out
II. For Discipline – this is when God wants to discipline the
soldier who has done one thing or the other mistakenly or
wrongly, this mistake may not be obvious to the soldier, so
when God summons you, He may tell or show you what you
have done wrongly, which you may not know (1st Kings 19:
9 – 18). Our text today
III. For the Unveiling of new things – God always has new
things and words available for His Army, He can summon
you to unveil what He wants to do,this unveiling is a vital
aspect of summoning because it is to reveal God’s plans
and purpose to you
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about the reasons for God to invite a
person to His presence?
CORRELATION QUESTION
Why did God summon Ezekiel to His presence (Ezek. 2: 12 – 19)?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by Unveiling?
APPLICATION QUESTION
Why do you think God can summon you among these reasons?
CONCLUSION
having seen reasons for the summoning of God to take place, you
can see that we must make sure we are open to God at all times,
so that when we are summoned to His presence we will be able to
stand there
PRAYER POINT
My Father, when you are inviting me to your presence, let it be for
good reason
THE BRIEF
In continuation of our study on reasons for summoning, in our
text, we can see specifically that it was for Discipline that God
summoned Elijah and the summoning brought an end to his
ministry, may God not discipline you beyond your capacity
I. To teach you something new– You can be summoned to
the Throne room to be taught new things from the
scripture
II. To Enlarge your capacity for His Kingdom assignments –
secular organizations understand the importance of
capacity, that is why they send their staff on trainings for
capacity development, God cannot therefore joke or play
with the capacity of the soldiers in His kingdom Army
III. To elevate you in the spirit realm as His Representative –
The spirit realm is wide and full of different spirits, but
there are physical agents of these spirits that can gain
access to them in order to discuss or collect something
from the spirits to be used in the physical realm.
IV. To make you a Carrier of His Divine Presence here and now
– The presence of God is not only meant for you to access
when you seek God or when you are summoned, it is
meant to be with you always and everywhere – Exodus 34:
28 – 30
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation of Moses’s summoning to that of John the
Revelator?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by capacity enlargement for the
kingdom?
APPLICATION QUESTION
Do you intend to be summoned for one of these reasons?
CONCLUSION
In conclusion on the reasons for summoning, you will notice that
God’s reasons for summoning are to basically equip His kingdom
soldiers for the army to be able to continue to maintain the
victory of Jesus, so don’t be hesitant when the invitation or a
summoning is given to you
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let me be ever ready for your summoning at all times
THE BRIEF
This week we will be looking at the rewards that you get when you
heed to the summoning of God, each time God summons,
irrespective of the reason for it, there is a rewards attached to it,
let’s consider few of them:
- Empowerment – each time God summons you, there is a
release of power into you
- Authorization – God knowing that authority is more than
power, He will always give you the authority to use the new
power He is giving to you
- Wisdom, Knowledge & Understanding – these three are in
abundance in heaven, so each time you are summoned by
God, He gives a fresh release of each into your life. The
best place you can have full access to these is in God’s
presence
- Mark of Christ – God renews the mark that has been placed
on you so that no evil hand can touch or harm you – Gal. 6:
17
- Revelation – when you are summoned, it increases the
level of your revelation and you have more divine
information to share with people
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about the rewards for summoning?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand about the experience of Moses in our
text today?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you think you can align with God to be summoned by Him
for you to have any of these rewards?
CONCLUSION
As we conclude the series on the Summoning of God, we have
been able to see that for every activity orchestrated by God, there
are always reasons and rewards also follow. It means that we can
be rest assured that we can transact spiritual business with God
and be rewarded appropriately. Submit yourself to God and you
will not regret doing so, when summoned you will be rewarded by
God Himself
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, I submit myself, let me be rewarded as I answer your
summons from now on
THE BRIEF
Vision is the revelation of God's divine agenda which can be for an
individual, group of people and generations to come. It can be
brief or detailed on things which God has set to happen at a
predetermined time of life.
We all must desire to know aforetime what God has pre-planned
for our lives so that we can live to fulfill them. Prophet Habakkuk
desired to know what God will tell him of his life and the people
of God, so he purposed to go to a high tower where no one will
disturb or distract him of the divine connection and
communication with God.
FULFILLING VISION
Vision is meant to be fulfilled at certain time, that is why the
scripture says that, "...he may run that readeth it" (Habakkuk 2:2)
because where there is no vision, people live a miserable life
(Proverb 29:18).
DISCOVERY QUESTION
Have you discovered God's vision for your life?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by vision?
APPLICATION QUESTION
What can be done to get God's vision for one’s life?
CONCLUSION
Vision is a driving force for life and fulfillment, without which one
is like a wanderer in life. We must purpose to know what God has
envisioned for our lives so we can be fulfilled in life.
PRAYER
Lord, reveal your vision of my life to me.
THE BRIEF
Last week we were able to see what vision is from the spiritual
perspective. We were able to see that it is usually spiritually given
by God.
This week, we want to see vision from another perspective, for
instance, if you find yourself in a corporate environment and you
are asked about vision, you are expected to discuss it in a
corporate way, so we need to understand this as students in a
secular higher institution – according to the dictionary, vision is
the formation of a mental image of something that is not perceived
as real and is not present to the senses
This kind of vision is what drives the goals, aims and objectives of
an organization, it is what all the staff and workers in the
organization will be following, because it carries the life of the
organization
Therefore as an individual, you can also cast a vision for yourself
and your future. Thence, the vision will be your driver.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
Have you discovered your vision for your life?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by vision?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How have you applied your vision to your life?
CONCLUSION
Vision is a necessity for a life of impact, without which one has no
aim or objective in life. We must purpose to cast a vision for our
lives so that we can be of impact and influence in life.
PRAYER
Oh Lord, open my heart to the vision of my life.
THE BRIEF
This week, we will be looking at these two elements that many
people usually think are the same, but they are actually different
Vision is what shows you the end, it shows you where you are
going to, it lets you know the actual plan for your life, but it
doesn’t show you the process or the way to get to the place you
are seeing. It takes another process for you to know the way to
the end
Revelation is what shows you the step-by-step process to get to
the place where the vision has revealed to you. Revelation guides
or instructs you on how to go on the journey and get there. In our
text today, Paul said “and I went up by revelation…” in order
words, after he had seen the vision of what God wanted to do
there, he got to know it was time to go by revelation, because it
was 14 years after he had seen the vision that he actually went
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What have been able to discover about Revelation?
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation with the going back of Moses to Egypt?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How have you mistaken Vision for Revelation before?
CONCLUSION
Having seen now that vision is different from revelation, but
knowing that they are both from the same source – the Holy Spirit,
they are both important and vital to our lives, let’s always seek to
have the daily guidance of God in our journey in life
PRAYER
Oh Lord, let your Spirit guide and instruct me on a daily basis
THE BRIEF
In our text, which we have been studying for some time, we want
to really look at it deeply this week to see the process of catching
vision
In the text, we can see the need for the following in order to catch
vision:
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What have been able to discover about catching vision?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do understand by alignment?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you intend to catch a vision for your life?
CONCLUSION
Seeing these steps to catching vision, you will see that it is
important to then guide the vision that you see or catch, doing
this will make those that see your vision to be interested in it and
running along with you to accomplish it
PRAYER
My Father, I align with your Spirit for relevant vision for my life
THE BRIEF
If a person does not know where he or she is going, it is advisable
that the person does not go anywhere, in fact, the person will
remain stagnant and unprogressive, and in the course of this our
study, we have been able to see that it’s vision that shows us
where we are going and not having a vision means that one can’t
go anywhere.
So, we want to see the importance of vision to our lives, which are:
- For us to have a future
- For us to be free from distractions and distractors
- For us to be self-confident in whatever we are doing
- For people to respect you
- For you not to be discouraged
- For you to always remain in the path that God has set for
you
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What have been able to discover about importance of vision?
CORRELATION QUESTION
How does this teaching reflect in the statement of Isaiah in Isaiah
6: 8?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How have you experienced any of this importance of vision?
Give any other importance of vision that you know or can think of
CONCLUSION
Seeing how important vision is to our lives, you will see that it is
vital to have vision for one’s life, doing this will make those that
see that you have vision to honor you
PRAYER
Oh Lord, let me not be negligent with your vision for my life
THE BRIEF
In continuation of our study on vision and its relevance, we will
look further on how relevant the vision of God is relevant to
human lives and its application.
1. Vision makes us live in the plan of God: The mind of God is
revealed to us through visions, we shouldn't live a self-will
life or personal desires, but mostly in the divine plan and
agenda of God for our lives – Exodus 3: 5-21
2. Vision makes us live a life of impact: To live our lives in
God's vision will make us live impactful lives, in which
generation to generation will be blessed by our lives. One
will not only be a blessing to Christians or immediate
family but to all men for the salvation of their souls.
Joseph by his life in God's vision lived an impactful life to
the Egyptians, Hebrews and the entire world in the season
of famine/world recession. Gen. 37:5-12; 41:38-42; 55-57.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about relevance of vision?
CORRELATION QUESTION
How can you compare the impactful life of Moses and Joseph?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How can you apply the vision of God in your life?
CONCLUSION
Having seen how vision can be relevant to our lives, we are
expected to desire God's vision for our lives and its relevance to
our lives and succeeding generations awaiting God's glory.
PRAYER
Oh Lord, help me to live a life of impact to the glory of your name.

grow into the fullness of Christ and enjoy an unending benefit in
Christ
Prayer
Oh Lord, let your Grace be made manifest in my life

In our previous study, we learnt that the Grace of God is the
unmerited and undeserved gift from God given to us in Christ
Jesus through Faith. This will make it possible for us to be able to
grow to the fullness of life in Christ Jesus which was originated by
God. The Grace is available for all who want to receive it and it
operates in these three levels.
- Saving Grace - Enabling Grace
- Sustaining Grace
Saving Grace: The plan for salvation was not initiated by us but by
God, this is grace. Eph. 2:8; Rom. 5:5 - 10; Gen. 3:15
Enabling Grace: The grace of God is available to make us do things
that are beyond our human abilities. The grace is available for us
to do exploit and to achieve greater success both spiritually and
physically.
Sustaining Grace: The grace is available to keep us safe and strong
in our Christian journey that we will be victorious and reign with
Christ at the end
DISCOVERY QUESTION

CONCLUSION
The grace is available for ALL(Titus 2: 11)in every area of our lives
if we can only acknowledge our need for the grace and accept
Christ Jesus, there shall be victory.
PRAYER
Lord, I receive grace for all that concerns me.
THE BRIEF
After a seed has been shown, it is expected to bring forth life and
not remain as a seed. The process of bringing forth life is
attributed to as growth. The plant will not stop at the stage of just
bringing forth and remaining but will continue to grow until it has
completed its life cycle and not grow again, which mean it has
grown.
A believer should not stop at the stage of giving his/her life to
Christ which is the initial growth stage but should continue to
grow daily into the fullness of Christ Jesus; this growth is only
available by ‘abiding in’ Christ Jesus.
To be grown is to reach a level in Christ where you are no more
tossed to and fro or from side to side by the words and actions of
men

and one must grow in it, this is what Jesus expects of us, it is only
when you remain or abide in Him that you can do that
PRAYER
Lord, I come to the throne of grace today, release more grace
upon my life in Jesus name, Amen.

THE BRIEF
Everything and everyone in life is connected to one source or the
other, that source is where everything that sustains the person or
thing comes from. When in the kingdom, there is a source for the
life in the kingdom, in this series; we will be looking at this source
and the level to which we should be relating with Him
This week we want to study the first level to which we should/can
relate with the source of life in the kingdom of God. First of all we
must know that Christ Jesus is the source of the life in the
kingdom. The day of you say the prayer of confessing Jesus as
your Lord and Savior, you get connected to Him.
That’s why in our text today; He says “I am the True Vine…you are
the branches”, every branch take nutrient from the source of the
tree, that’s why you don’t just end your Christian journey on the
day of confessing Jesus as your Lord, you start on the day and you
continue to grow in Him
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about the Vine in today’s teaching?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by: Pruning (John 15: 2)?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How did you get connected to the Source?
CONCLUSION
We have seen that Jesus Christ is the only Source of life in the
kingdom and it is only connecting to Him that you can access and
stay in the kingdom, therefore stay connected to Him
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, empower me to remain connected to the Source of my
life in the kingdom
THE BRIEF
Today, we want to study on the topic that is important to our
Christian journey, irrespective of the level you are in life, there is
the standing position in Christ, because “if you are not standing in
Him, you cannot stand for Him”
In the text, we can see that our spiritual journey requires a
standing position because “we are wrestling…” this action requires
remaining standing, because the people we are wrestling with are
not flesh and blood (they are unseen) so you cannot afford to play
or joke with your spiritual life. To stand in Him, you must ensure
you don’t disconnect or disengage from the Holy Spirit; you don’t
outgrow the scripture and reliance on the Word
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about standing in Christ?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by “Stand”?
CORRELATION QUESTION
What is the correlation between this and 1st Kings 20:39 – 40?
CONCLUSION
We have seen that the standing position is required position for
every believer that wants to stand for Christ
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, let me be able to stand in you all the days of my life
THE BRIEF
Every tree or plant that will produce fruits or be useful for
anything must have roots. Also, understand that the depth of the
roots determines the height of the tree. With these assertions, this
week we want to study the growing down dimension of our lives
as Christians
In this series, we have seen that your starting point is connecting
with Him.Then you must remain standing, but you may not stand
strong or for long if you are not rooted in Him. Growing down is
different from going down, everywhere you see that a person
“goes down” in the Bible and it is not God that commands it, such
a person has veered off the path of spiritual progress. Grow down
is a metaphorical expression of being rooted in Christ Jesus and
from there you spring up and subsequently bear the fruit of
righteousness. So, when you grow down in Him, it means you
deliberately study more, fast more often, fellowship more,
worship more, pray more than before. You grow down so that
when the times of storm come, you will remain standing.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about growing down in this study?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by ‘going down’ and ‘growing down’?
APPLICATION QUESTION
What plans do you have for to grow down in Christ?
CONCLUSION
Having seen that growing down in Christ is a requirement for any
believer that wants to remain standing for Him, it is important we
take conscious efforts to grow down in Him
PRAYER POINT
My Father, empower me to grow down and be rooted in Christ
Jesus
THE BRIEF
Everyone that has come to enter a personal relationship with
Jesus came through one person or the other and when anybody
comes to Christ, he or she is expected to also grow to a level of
bringing others to Christ. .
In our study today, we will look at the last commandment of Jesus
to the disciples and by extension to every believer as well. Before
Jesus ascended into heaven, He gave the commission to His
disciples that they should not limit themselves in reaching out to
people; they were to go all out. But before sending them, He
assured them that “All authority (power to rule) has been given to
Me”, in other words, based on the platform of My authority and
because you are connected to me and have grown down in Me,
you can go and make disciples of all nations
At whatever sphere of life, you are, go and make disciples, you
have Jesus’ backing for you
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about reaching out in Christ?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand by “make disciple”’?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How have you reached out for Him before?
CONCLUSION
As we end this series on being rooted in Him, you will see that
being rooted in Christ is not a stagnant relationship, it starts with
coming to Him to going out for Him, you should therefore get
committed to Him the more to get more from Him and get more
used for Him
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord my God, I receive grace and authority to reach out in you
and for you
THE BRIEF
Whatever you have experienced, learnt or known or whatever you
have that others do not have can make people get drawn to you
Having what is above and beyond others makes you to have
influence and effect over them, your being able to pass it across
to them is what this study is based on
In one word, this process is called: Impact. According to the
dictionary, Impact is defined as a forceful consequence; a strong
effect influencing strongly. To have Impact is to have an effect or
influence on someone.
In our text, Jesus had what no other person in Capernaum had, so
they were naturally drawn to Him and we see that He was able to
have strong effect on them and He influenced them strongly, such
that they were looking for him to the extent that when they saw
Him they begged Him not to depart from their coast.
The crowd was irrepressibly seeking him because they knew that
they will be ultimately filled with the ‘food’ of the kingdom
because His desire is “to preach the kingdom of God” (verse 43).
What is your influence?
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What new have you discovered in today’s bible study?
CORRELATION QUESTION
How does the impact of Jesus correlate with that of Moses in the
house of Jethro (Exodus 2: 17 – 22)?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you plan to have positive impact in your immediate
environment?
CONCLUSION
Having seen how Jesus was able to dissipate and deploy what He
had to make impact over a whole city, we should see that having
positive impact is a thing that God wants for us to have
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, create in me the heart for positive impact
THE BRIEF
In the last week’s study, we saw that Jesus had impact on a whole
city that He entered into. Was it because He was the Messiah or
the Son of God? Was it because he was the Saviour? That’s why
this week; we want to probe into the question: who can have
impact?
In actual fact, impact can either be positive or negative, thus it
can by or from anybody, in other words ANYBODY can be a person
of influence – no matter your level, no matter what you do, who
you are, who you know or where you are – you can have impact.
Let’s look at Paul the Apostle, he was formerly an accuser of the
brethren, but after he met Jesus, his sphere of influence and
impact shifted and the people that he impacted upon began to
glorify God for his life.
The essence of this study therefore is to bring us into the
consciousness of this fact, so that we are deliberate and
intentional about our impact on the lives of people.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What more were you able to discover about impact i.e. the person
that can impact?
UNDERSTANDING QUESTION
What do you understand about Impact being positive or negative?
APPLICATION QUESTION
What area of life do you plan to have impact?
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, we have seen that anybody can have impact, but it
could either be intentional or unintentional – so, we have learnt
today to make our impact positive, intentional and deliberate
PRAYER POINT
Oh Lord, activate the seed of positive impact in my life
THE BRIEF
Having known that at whatever level you are in life and whoever
you are, it is possible for you to have impact, there is need to
know ‘how to’ do it.
For everything in life, there is a ‘how to’ and when you know it, you
begin to do well in it – impacting lives is also inclusive. Here are
the things you must be conscious of from this day:
i. Be careful with what you say and do – your doings
(action) and sayings (words) are two major elements
that are used in the field of influence – Acts 1: 1 Jesus
began both to ‘do’ and ‘teach’
ii. Let Integrity be your watchword – integrity is the
ability to have a good character irrespective of the
situation and the location you find yourself. It is doing
good when nobody sees you.
iii. Align with the Holy Spirit – the level of your alignment
with the Holy Spirit will determine the level of the
control He will have over you. This is what determines
what you will be doing and saying.
DISCOVERY QUESTION
What did you discover about your becoming impactful?
CORRELATION QUESTION
How does the book of Acts 1 verse 1 correlate with 1st Kings 17: 24?
APPLICATION QUESTION
How do you plan to improve your level of alignment with the Holy
Spirit?
CONCLUSION
You have learnt today that what you say and do is important for
you to have impact, it is therefore necessary to follow the pattern
of Jesus Christ in doing this
PRAYER POINT
Holy Spirit! I submit myself to you for you to lead me in the way of
Impact
