An Opinion Assesses Fancy Fertiliser s Liability Under...
TO: Olo Dictum and Areta Obiter, Senior partners
FROM: Kate Thompson
RE: Damage from Contamination
This opinion assesses Fancy Fertiliser s liability under the rule in Ryland s and Fletcher.
Was the hydrofluorosilicic acid likely to cause mischief?
The rule established in Ryland s and fletcher is that anything likely to cause mischief, if
it escapes refers to beasts, or water, or filth, or stenches. In the case of Cambridge Water
Co and Eastern Counties Leather, the chemical perchloroethene (for tanning leather) was
the culprit of contamination and it was ruled that it was included as something used to
cause mischief if it escaped. We can use this ruling to decide that the hydrofluorosilicic
acid was likely to cause mischief.
Did the hydrofluorosilicic acid escape?
In the case of Read and Lyons, escape was defined as where a thing goes from an area
under the defendants control to an area outside their control. In both instances of the
chemical entering the student flats and from the truck to the toitū early settler s museum
the chemicals had left the defendants facility to an area outside of their control. Therefore
it can be established that the chemical did indeed escape.
Was the hydrofluorosilicic acid brought onto the land?
In Ryland s and Fletcher it is established that it is a necessity for absolute liability
therefore the literal interpretation be taken; being that they introduced something onto
the land that was not there before. In this case the fertiliser and
Live Like a Soldier, Die Like a Child
Shooting became just like drinking a glass of water said Ishmael Beah, an ex child
soldier, children who refused to fight, kill or showed any weakness were ruthlessly
dealt with. As children s involvement in armed conflict keeps on increasing, Child
Soldiers becomes a more and more popular phrase on newspapers and news. Many,
however, do not have an insight view on what are actually behind simply 300,000

Easily manipulated due to their unsophisticated mind and physically smallness, child
soldiers are usually brainwashed to devote their lives to their leaders and manifest
allegiance to the gang or rebellion army. Also, for the rebellion army raise them up and
train them since they are young, they will have a gesture of gratitude toward the rebellion
army while growing up. To express the gratefulness, they give themselves into service for
the rebellion army. One of the most notable examples throughout history is the Hitler
Jugend (Hitler Youth) during World War II. Members of the Hitler Youth were
brainwash with Fascism since joining it at a young age, who would later on grew up
and became lethal fighters devoting to Hitler believing that he was their god. A large
amount of child soldiers who are raised by the rebellion army have steadfast loyalty
toward it and are willing to fight and die for it. Also, they are trained strictly and chosen
carefully, like the description in the book Space Marines Do you know how they make
them? No, of course you don t. They find some barbaric place where children fight to
survive, and they hunt down the most bloodthirsty killers. They recruit them when they
re twelve, thirteen, fourteen, with all that hate and that arrogance, just at the age when
you think you re bulletproof and nothing can kill you. Then they keep them like that, give
them a gun and some armor and point them at the nearest enemy.
Haiti Ethnographic Research
In the spring of 1942, I had the advantage to pass a wonderful week in Haiti. I was
accompanied by Leslie R. Holdrige a young engineer and a botanist. Unfortunately the
journal that has my detailed notes and observations was lost in the airplane that was
transporting me from Haiti to Puerto Rico, or probably was confiscated. However it
was possible for me to give this observations and show some photographs concerning
the beautiful forest of Pins des hauts plateau of Morne des Commissaires. The notes and
photographs may have scientific interest, for very little is written on the phytography of

A World Of Books By Borges
Disorder In A World of Books

In Borges s Ficciones, it is evident that Borges knew a lot about science and scientific
writing and writers. How we as readers know that, is by way of his writing. In his
writing he demonstrates that scientific knowledge by incorporating some aspects in his
stories. One of the biggest scientific ideas that are seen throughout his stories is the idea
of entropy. Entropy, in its simplest definition is defined as, disorder whether it is in
society or anywhere else in the universe. This concept of entropy plays a huge role in
many of the stories; it is a critical concept, without it many of those stories would no
longer have their intended meaning. So in this essay we are going to go in more
depth and find out what entropy it really is, as well as look at how it is used as a basis
for some of the stories by Borges. As expressed before, Borges makes this vast
knowledge of scientific knowledge known in his writing. In his stories Borges also
demonstrates his understanding of the laws of thermodynamics. Thermodynamics is the
branch of physical science that deals with the relationship between heat and other
forms of energy such as mechanical, electrical, or chemical energy. In physics,
according to the second law of thermodynamics, the total amount of entropy system
will never decrease because the system will try to strike a balance of Thermal
equilibrium or in other words, it will always find a way to go back to order/peace. The
systems that
Reflection Paper On Concussions
About a month ago, I was playing a basketball game and I took a hard hit, from an
elbow to the back of the head. I kept playing in the basketball game, because I didn t
think that anything bad had happened to me. I had not realized that I had a concussion,
until I threw up[ outside about twenty five minutes after the game. All my friends, and
my family told me I needed to go to the hospital, but I did not want to waste money. I
decided to go to the health services department that Bradley University has on campus.
The doctors did a lot of different activities for them to figure out if i have a concussionor
not. They also had me take a paintest, and this told them where I was having pain in my
head and what precautions I should take to not hurt my head more than I already had.
The doctors diagnosed me with a pretty severe concussion and told me that this was a
very serious injury, and that I should not take it for granted. After I left, the health
services department sent out an email to my teachers, telling them that I would not be
in class for a few days, and that I could not complete any homework assignments.
Without a concussion, I could do whatever I wanted to do with my life. I could play
basketball and soccer whenever I wanted to. I could go out and have fun with my
friends or even go to social gatherings that my fraternity was holding. I went to class
everyday and made sure all of my homework was finished and turned in on time. I did

Narrative Essay On My First Day In High School
My freshman year in high school was the rough compared to the normal high school
things. On August 12, 2013, I almost lost my best friend; he had smoked for twenty
some years when he had a devastating heart attack. I remember the fear and the
thoughts of death that made my skin shiver. It was the second week of school on
Tuesday when I got a pass at the beginning of my World History class when I got a pass
with immediately circled three or four times. The passmade me very confused
considering I didn t know of any appointments I had, and I didn t ask my mom if I
could go home early. Leaving the class and entering the empty hall, thinking about
what s going on as my footsteps echoing through the halls. What s going on? Why
would I be leaving this close to the end of school? As I walked past the office to my
locker, I saw my mom with red eyes and purple bags under her eyes. At that moment,
my stomach flipped and knotted up, because it s at that moment when I realized
something very wrong has happened. My pace quickened to the point of almost
running; shoving my French one book and Algebra one in my backpack before
sprinting to my mom. She met me by the big glass doors in the lobby of the office;
laying a hand on my shoulder she told me my dad had a major heart attack. I had felt
my body instinctively lunged toward the door, but my mom held my shoulder tight. As
we walked to the car, my sister was in the front seat with her hair all messy in a bun and
in her pajamas. She
