The word reptile itself does not describe a monophyletic group of vertebrates, like the
mammals or birds. It is used to classify a polyphyletic group of animals that are a subset
of the larger group of Amniotes. The term is best described through a cladogram:

The reptiles first appeared in the early Carboniferous, having evolved from
labyrinthodont amphibians. They had several distinct advantages over the amphibians
that allowed them to flourish during the cold, dry Permian period. These lead them to
be the most successful group of vertebrates and this period was referred to as the age of
reptiles. They exploited all terrestrial niches, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this reptiles were able withstand osmotic water loss and re invade the sea.
The Chelonia (turtles) have become the most prolific marine reptile and they also have
an interesting skin that is worth mentioning. The have a shell covering their body,
made out of a horny layer attached to a denser bony layer. It comes in two pieces, the
carapace, for dorsal protection and the plastrom for ventral protection. 2 Excretion.
Reptiles have modified their excretory products to conserve water. Because they do
not have a complex enough kidney to produce urea they create uric acid, a large
molecule that has a very low water content. Although the water content is lower than
urea the trade off is that the molecule is expensive to make. Reptiles also reduce the
water content of their faeces through active removal of NaCl. This creates an osmotic
gradient to draw water out and desiccate the excrement. The excess NaCl is then
excreted through the nose. 3 Creation of the cloaca. This is a cavity into which the
urinary, alimentary and genital ducts open. It has three sections, the coprodaeum where
faeces collect and enter, the urodeum where the ureter empties out and water is removed
and finally the proctodaeum, the collection point for uric acid and faeces. This
centralisation of all the excretory products allows for greater water retention as well as
providing for the
Battle Analysis Paper Takur Ghar
Mission Command Analysis
Abstract
In the late evening of March 3rd 2002, through to the evening of March 4th 2002, Special
Operation Forces were engaged in an intense fire fight with al Qaeda forces on a
mountain top known as Takur Ghar. This battle was the product of a botched
reconnaissance insertion and ultimately resulted in a 24 hour fire fight and the deaths
of 7 U.S. service members and over 200 al Qaeda fighters. Navy SEAL, Neil C. Roberts
is believed to be the first U.S. casualty of this battle and thus, the battle also became
unofficially known as Roberts Ridge (1).

The ramp gunner was tethered to the aircraft and was retrieved back inside by the
remaining passengers. Roberts fell from the aircraft and was believed to still be alive as
the aircraft was only 10 feet off of the ground at the time it came under fire.
The helicopter was forced to crash land in the valley and now was 7 kilometers away
from the mountain top. Roberts was now completely alone amongst an overwhelming
enemy force and it is believed that he fought in place until he was eventually over run by
the enemy (3).
The downed SEALs were picked up by RAZOR 04 and at 0500, again attempted to
reinsert at Roberts last known position. Now they were only a team of 5 with the
addition of Air
Force CCT Chapman. The aircraft was able to insert the team but again came under
heavy fire and was also rendered mission incapable and had to fly back to its origin due
to the damage that it sustained. The team moved to the high ground of the mountain
engaging and killing 2 combatants, they then realized that they were standing in the
middle of multiple bunkers as they came under heavy cross fire from only 20 meters
away. Acoording to the official report,
Chapman was fatally wounded almost immediately and 2 others would also become
wounded as they attempted to break contact. An AC 130 was able to provide covering
fire and enabled the
SEALS to disengage. Wounded and
Doctor Who Origin
We are well within the one week countdown mark to possibly one of the most hyped
series of Doctor Who in the show s five decade history. On the face of it, the series
looks to be like any other. One with lots of monsters, mystery and adventure. Also with
the important point of it being another Moffat series to add to his collection (which isn t
a terrible collection at that).
So, what makes Series 9 that much more gripping, even before it airs? What have got
Whovians the world over raving about the series during the tenth anniversary year of
the revival? Well in this article, you will find all the answers to that question in six
parts, and perhaps more reasons to declare it one of the greatest series yet if it delivers on
all aspects.
That is all change this year, as it truly is the time of the Twelfth Doctor. The scripts have
been manufactured exactly to the new Doctor s character, which promises more
differences, but also more consistency in his character this time around. We will be
getting a more identifiable portrayal of the Twelfth Doctor himself.
Peter is now far more comfortable in the role, and he will no doubt be giving it the
best he has got, which is a lot! He will be sensational, and with trusted companion
Clara in a less commanding position this time around. The beauty of the Twelfth
Doctor s character will shine ever brighter. He looks to be a splendid mix of fun, dark,
adventurous and damn likeable too. Get ready for a new take on the now classic hero to
Social Tension Between Babo And Cereno
When Captain Amasa Delano visits the San Dominick, he notices the tension between
Babo and Don Benito Cereno while Babo is shaving Benito Cereno s beard, not
unaffected by the close right of the gleaming steel, Don Benito nervously shuddered
(Melville 74). The tension between Babo and Cereno is ironic because Captain Delano
does not understand what is actually going on between the two characters. As the social
tension between Babo and Cereno rises, the aesthetic tension created by Melville
between Delano and the ship rises as well. Melville as a writer creates tension, and that
tension is rooted in irony. The close reading of the shaving scene shows how Melville
uses irony to contribute to the social tension between the two characters and... Show more

Babo uses Delano s ignorance to his advantage to deliberately confuse him more, and
turning, saw the negro, his hand to his check. Advancing, Captain Delano perceived
that his check was bleeding (Melville 77). Babo intentionally causes harm to himself to
enforce the illusion Delano is under. When Babo proclaims to Delano, and for the first
tie in so many a day, the irony is reinforced again. This is not the first time that Cereno
has been hurt by Babo, and the scene that Delano is viewing is not the scene that is
actually taking place. As Melville builds tension between Babo and Cereno, he builds
tension between Delano and the
