Major Historical Perspective On The Atonement Theory
There are seven major historical perspective on the Atonement; Ransom Theory,
Satisfaction Theory, Governmental Theory, Example Theory, Moral Influence Theory,
Christus Victor and Substitutionary atonement.
Ransom theory states that a commercial transaction took place in which Jesus death was
the price paid to ransom the human race from its bondage to sin. This can be found in
Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give
his life as a ransom for many .Gregory of Nyssa and Cyprian were both proponents of
this theory.
Satisfaction Theory states the death of Jesus on the cross satisfied the wounded honor and
majesty of God.Anselm was a proponent of the satisfaction theory.
Governmental Theory states the death of Jesus on the cross was an offering to God
necessary not to forgive sin but to restore the moral order of the universe. A
governmental theorist sites Isaiah 42:21 It pleased the LORD for the sake of his
righteousness to make his law great and glorious . Hugo Grotius was a proponent of the

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that
you should follow in his steps 1 Peter 2:21. Socinus was a proponent of the example
theory.
The Moral Influence Theory states that Jesus death on the cross so reveals god s love
that its acts as inspiration providing a revival of moral fortitude in man. Perter Abelard
and Horace Bushnell were proponents of the Moral Influence
Buffalo Soldiers Research Paper
Buffalo Soldiers were made up of former slaves, freemen and black Civil War Soldiers.
Buffalo Soldiers got their names from the Indians because of the way they looked.
Their short curly hair and their dark faces reminded Indians of buffalo. Another reason
they were called Buffalo Soldiers is because of their fierce way of fighting reminded
the Indians of the way the buffalo fought. The last reason they were called the Buffalo
Soldiers was because they often wore thick coats made of buffalo hide in the cold of
winter. In 1867 there were four black regiments: the 9th and 10th Cavalryunits and the
24th and 25th Infantry units called the Buffalo Soldiers. The first black regiment to get
the name of Buffalo Soldiers was the 10th cavalry.

They were also keepers of law and order in general, and they were active in building
roads and military structures. One of the first black man to graduate from West Point
was Henry O. Flipper. He then became the commander of the 10th regiment at Fort Sill,
which lay Indian Territory. The oldest Buffalo Soldier ever was Mark Matthews who died
on September 6, 2005. He is interred at Arlington National Cemetery and was 111 years
old. Buffalo soldiers fought in the Indian Wars which occurred between 1622 and 1924.
Buffalo Soldiers fought in the Southwest and on the Plains. Buffalo Soldiers often
distinguished themselves in spite of old horses, meager ammunition, and faulty
equipment. As settlers moved into the Southwest, the black regiments had to fight
against outlaws and Apaches. In 1886, during the Apache Wars, the 10th Regiment
pursued Geronimo into the Pitino Mountains of Mexico. In addition to controlling the
Indians of the Plains and Southwest, the soldiers policed cattle rustlers and built roads

Unit 4 Brain Unit
A.
The brain is the most important organ for regulating human behavior and thought. The
brain is very complex and has taken centuries to discover how it functions. The brain is
separated into four distinct regions or lobes. These regions are called the frontal lobe,
the occipital lobe, the temporal lobe, and the parietal lobe. The frontal lobe is located
directly behind the forehead and is the brain region that controls higher level thinking
such as memory, planning, and judgment. The frontal lobe also contains motor cortex
which allows voluntary movements. Another vital brain region is the occipital lobe. The
occipital lobe can be found in the back of the brain. Its job is to process and store visual
information. The occipital lobe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this situation there are three external stimuli that would cause a reaction in the body.
These stimuli are the flashing scoreboard, the taunting fans, and the intensity of the
game. The flashing scoreboard will be interpreted by a normal brain as annoying and eye
catching. The information will enter the brain via the visual cortex where the numbers
will be identified. Once the numbers are identified then the brain can tell that the score is
close. This will trigger the sympathetic nervous system which will cause increased heart
rate and a fight or flight response. The information about the taunting fans would enter
the brain through the auditory cortex. The temporal lobe will then process what they are
saying. The reaction to this taunting would either be taunting the opposing fans back or
ignoring them and focusing on the game. The last stimuli is the intensity of the game
which would be enter the brain by the visual cortex. The occipital lobe will process this
information and tell the hypothalamus to have the adrenal glands release
Essay about Snapple Case Study
Snapple Case Study

Despite the fact that many small startup premium fruit drink companies stayed small or
even disappeared during the period from 1972 to 1993, Snapple was able to flourish. A
large part of Snapple avoiding the fate of these other companies can be attributed to how
successful it was in utilizing the four Ps of marketing, especially product and promotion.
Of the four Ps, the marketing mix typically starts with the product, which is one area
where Snapple separated itself from competitors. The product not only entails the
physical unit but also, among other factors, its package, warranty, after sale service,
brand name, company image, and value. Snapple prides itself on being 100% natural.
Although the original ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Snapple also sponsored the radio programs of two highly outspoken men, Howard Stern
and Rush Limbaugh, who promoted Snapple s various products on air.
Finally, price is what a buyer must give up in order to obtain a product. It is often the
most flexible of the four Ps. Although not explicitly stated in the case study, I know from
further research that Snapple isn t significantly cheaper or more expensive than
substitute products. The average sixteen ounce bottle of Snapple is $1.50, which is
comparable to what one would pay for an Arizona iced tea or a bottle of Coca Cola. A
significant advantage was not gained in this area.
In order for Mike Weinstein to regain the level of success that Snapple once enjoyed, he
needs to make a serious effort to return Snapple to its roots. First and foremost he needs
to reestablish the public relations and advertising strategies the company once used.
Weinstein should reach out to Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, and Wendy Kaufman to
again promote Snapple s products. He needs to communicate to them how instrumental
they would be in returning Snapple to its former status among fruit drink companies. If
he can t get these individuals on board, then Weinstein needs to find suitable
replacements that have similar personalities to the aforementioned spokespersons. In
addition, because today s society is so reliant on technology, he should advertise Snapple
products through various social media.

Absorbance and Spectrophotometry
Experiment 2: Absorbance and Spectrophotometry

ABSTRACT:

This was an investigation into the effects of different wavelengths of light on methylene
blue and carmine red on the absorbance value on a spectrophotometer. A
spectrophotometer is used to measure light intensity by emitting a single light source
through a cuvette of coloured solution. The particles in the solution, which are coloured,
absorb the light depending on how concentrated it is and this produces an electronic
reading from the photometer which is the absorbance value. The maximum absorption
was found for both solutions and was used to calculate the molar extinction coefficient of
methylene blue. An unknown concentration of methylene blue was calculated by using ...

Figure 4. Graph showing dilutions of methylene blue and the absorptions each solution
gives

The black line on figure 4 represents the regression line. We can use this to find the
concentration of the unknown concentration of methylene blue solution by drawing a
tangent to the regression line at absorbance 0.262 (where the unknown absorbed) and
reading down from that point on the graph to the concentration. The concentration of the
unknown methylene blue is 4.4 x 10 6 mol dm 3.

We can find the molar extinction coefficient by substituting values of absorbance and the
concentration of the unknown concentration of methylene blue into Beer s laws equation.

Absorbance = k c t

k = absorbance / c t

k = 0.262 / 4.4 x 10 6 x 1

k = 59545 mol dm 3 cm 3

Therefore, k, the molar extinction coefficient is 59545 mol dm 3 cm 3.

DISCUSSION:

The main objectives of this experiment was to find the unknown concentration of
methylene blue by using a spectrophotometer. I found the maximum absorption for
methylene blue and carmine red (please refer to figure 1) and using this I determined a
more accurate maximum absorption value for each solution by taking further readings
around the peak of each line to determine the maximum. However, the findings of
maximum absorption for methylene blue and carmine red may not be as accurate as we
think
