Similarities Between Baseball And Cricket
Although they bear some superficial similarities the differences between Baseball and
Cricket are striking. Cricket is believed to have began in the 15th century while
Baseball wasn t started until 1839 by Abner Doubleday. Many believe that Baseball
originated from cricket, There is no accurate document that supports the idea. Both
sports have the same basic principle in how you play to win the game. The object in
both sports is to see who can score the most runs in the game or match. The basics of
both games are that the pitcher or bowler throws the ball towards the batter and the
batter swings the bat and hits the ball and there is 9 or 11 other players that try to get
you out. Cricket and baseballare both considered bat and ball games.
Reality Pans Labyrinth Essay
Perception alters reality pans labyrinth. The film El Laberinto del Fauno by Guillermo
del Toro is constantly contrasting the fantasy world with the harsh world of reality.
These light hearted scenes represent the joyful, free Spain that could exist with the fall
of fascism, whilst the world of reality with its brutal nature represents the fascist nation
of Spain. As the film nears its conclusion, the two worlds begin to merge, revealing that
the type of world that may be present in the future differs for each person depending on
how they perceive the events and world around them. The first instance in which the
alteration of form to suit views in the film is the transformation of the mantid transforms
into a fairy, to suit the needs of what Ophelia views it to be. This shows how the desires

As Ophelia decides to refuse the fauns request and walk away, captain Vidal enters the
centre of the labyrinth, revealing that he is not capable of seeing the faun, as he heads
towards Ofelia without question. This yet again shows how those who cannot
perceive Spain as being free in the future are incapable of seeing the fantasy aspects of
the film, representing the free Spain of the future. This is a key scene as Vidal himself
is the embodiment of fascism, which explains why he cannot see Spain as being free,
due to the fact that freedom and fascism cannot be symbiotic, as the rise in one will
always result in the fall of another. This is portrayed through the use of a POV shot,
from Vidal s perspective, showing Ofelia talking to no one, making her appear to look
mad. This emphasises the fact that those who couldn t see Spain as being a free
country, believed those who fought for it to be insane. By doing this Del Toro confirms
the fact that only those who believe in the fantasy world that is a free Spain are able to

Judith Francisca Baca
Judith Francisca Baca was born on September 20, 1946 in Los Angeles, California to
Valentino Marcel and Ortensia Baca. Her father, Valentino, was not in the picture, so
she was raised by her mother, grandmother, and two aunts. Coming from a Spanish
speaking family, Baca struggled in school, but maybe her struggling was a good thing.
Due to her problems with speaking, Baca s teacher made her sit at her desk and paint,
which sparked her interest in art. She attended California State University at Northridge
to obtain her bachelor s degree. Then she went back to her high school, Bishop Alemany
High School, to teach. That is where she got together ethnically diverse students and
painted a mural. Her teaching job did not last long. Her next job was in Los Angeles in
a traveling program for artists to teach at different schools. But one even that sparked
her art life was exploring the Mexican muralist tradition. She was inspired by different
books she read about them and traveled to Mexico to take classes in mural techniques
and materials. When she returned to Los Angeles, she began her Citywide Project. She

One of her most famous works is A World without Borders . It is a painting of Latinos
crying. The background of this painting is they want a world where border patrol does
not exist. People should be free to go and live wherever they want and cross the border
whenever. This painting, in a way, is expressing propaganda. They want people to
realize that there is an issue with having borders. Some artists have created artwork that
has to do with their heritage in their times. Baca s work however not only expresses her
ethnicity and background, but also has propaganda and represent equality as a whole,
with all races. Her work is headed in a new direction that expresses her opinion on
different matters through art. It is a great technique and also creates beautiful
Essay On Dissection In Schools
Dissection in High Schools Dissection has become more and more prevalent in high
schools in the last 50 years, so much that it has been estimated that about 75% of pre
college level biology classes have them. Many organizations like PETA and animal
humane societies have been bashing dissection because it can be considered animal
cruelty. Studies have shown that dissections have provided a hands on, authentic
approach to understanding anatomyand physiology, but when you consider the ethics
behind dissection, it totally changes the game. I believe that dissections in high school do
help students understand Anatomy and Physiology, but are unethical. Dissections in high
schools are considered unethical based off of their distributors/sources of the cadavers,
alternatives to animal dissection, and how it tells students that it s okay to abuse
helpless animals. While people like to believe that the animals have been killed because
they were sick... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
PETA believes that dissection can even dissuade some people from pursuing careers in
science. Many animal rights groups think that classroom dissection desensitizes
students to the sanctity of life. Reports from MLive (a Michigan broadcast network)
show that serial killer Jeffery Dahmer dissected a frog when he was younger and then
went to a dog and then became an infamous serial killer. Now, I m not saying that since
we are dissecting a cat we will become serial killers, but it shows that someone thought
it was okay to treat other beings like so because they were told it was okay to do in
school. Students who plan to go into the medical field would do better with human
cadavers or any of the non animal methods. This would more accurately reflect what they
would encounter in medical school, since according to CNN, more than 90 percent of
US medical schools have abandoned animal dissection in their
Skylar s Monologue
She kept on thinking. I wonder how things will turn out? She felt nervous and anxious
for school today, like she did everyday. She hopped on the bus. She thought. Where am
I going to sit today? Her palms were moist. She found a vacant seat. She carefully
claimed it. She wondered. When will I ever not feel nervous when riding the bus? She
pondered for a moment. What will be my routine for today at school? Her name is
Skylar. She lives in a suburban neighborhood. She is average height, has blonde brown
hair, and has muddy dark brown eyes. She has a heart of gold. But, she has trouble fitting
in and making friends.

So when she becomes a vigilante nobody will never know it s her. So she wrote a
suicide note. That way she doesn t have to go to school. She went back home wrote
the suicide note and have some chemicals, drugs, alcohol, and a knife on her desk. Her
note read, Dear whoever is reading this note, I can t go on any longer. I just can t take
it anymore. I m so sorry, but it s the only way for me to be happy. I kept on trying to
think positive. But I eventually got to the point that I was ready to die. It is nobody s
fault that I m gone. I lived a life of anxiety, stress, and sorrow. But it was a good life. I
am sorry for the morning you will do. I m sorry, but I had no friends. No friends at all.
Every single day was a struggle. I have been secretly depressed for two years now. I didn
t even think I could make it through the rest of the school year. Every day for two years I
have always wanted to do this. So I could fall into eternal sleep. I was tired of the shoes I
have been given. I wanted somebody else s shoes. Or no shoes at all. I wanted a different
life. I didn t want it to be perfect. I just wanted another life where I could be happy. I just
wanted a life where I didn t have to keep any secrets from anybody. I know life is so
short. It only lasts for so long. I know there is emotions and feelings I will never
experience if I do this. I will never know what it is like to be a parent, to be a local role
model, to be myself, to have no secrets, and more. Besides, no one will miss me when I
m gone. I just wish people could see the world through my eyes for once. And I could
see the world through their s. If only I could feel comfortable around others, instead of
being someone I am not. Life is a gift everyone says. You should cherish it. Well I wish I
had no present. I wish I was someone else. I know now that life is like a flower. That if
you water it with happiness and positivity it will

We have to be aware of the effects of gambling and what does it cause in our society.
There are so many effects of gambling, these include money, social problem and
addiction.
Money
Money is the main consideration when gambling. Gaining money could be mentioned
as one of the main reasons behind gambling. However, the trick of gambling makes
people lose money as they indulge more and more in the habit of gambling (Smith,
2002, p. 63). First the individual starts playing by using his or her own money. It is
often the case that would be gamblers have just won a small amount of money through
gambling. This becomes the incentive to start gambling. As the process continues,
gamblers win a little amount, while they lose a far greater value. The deception of
gambling lies in the fact that the little amount of money that people eventually do win,
causes them to believe that they are capable of making more money in the same way.
The happiness on winning a little overshadows the fact that the gambler has lost a far
greater value of money ( Meier Geis, 2006, p. 226). As the terrible cycle continues,
gamblers start to borrow money from friends and family. This leads to many other
family related problems. This stage of gambling is very sensitive because the next stage
