Liya Chu is 13 years old and she’s from Scarsdale, New York. She’s a cook and the
winner of MasterChef Junior USA, 2022 edition.
She knows how to cook thanks to her parents. She loves spending time with them at
home and in their restaurants. Her parents have got two restaurants in New York: Dumpling
5 Plus Noodle and Fantasy Cuisine.
Liya cooks with her heart. She likes trying and sharing different recipes1 with everyone

because she loves creating memories and preparing traditional food. Her family and friends
say she cooks delicious Asian food, such as pasta and dumplings2, but she can cook other traditional dishes, too. Her
favourite food (to eat) is sushi.
