They all talked about their dreams and hopes. Laurie wanted to travel around the

world and to play music all the time. Meg wanted to have lots of money and pretty

clothes. do wanted to have lots of horses, books and lots of time to write. Beth
wanted to stay home safe and play her little piano. Amy wanted to go to Rome and
be a famous artist.

2. Hannah came in with a telegram. Discuss


Marmee received a telegram from Washington Hospital telling her that Mr. March
was very ill and she had to come at once. Marmee decided to go there to see her
husband.

3. Jo showed a lot of sacrifices, Discuss


She decided to help her mother when Mr. March was ill. She went to the
hairdresser and sold her hair although it was beautiful. She gave the money to her
mother.

4. How did Jo try to fulfill her dream?


She took two of her stories and went to the newspaper office trying to print them in

the paper. One day, she found out that one of her stories was in the paper. She was
very happy.
5. What was Mr. Laurence's dream for the Laurence boy?
Mr. Laurence wanted Laurie to go to college and become a businessman but Laurie
did not like business. He wanted to play music.

›Chapter 6:
1. "We are so happy together. Comment
Jo said that to Marmee when Jo told Meg about Mr. Brooke's love to Meg. Jo asked

Marmee to let Mr. Brooke go away and have them alone as they are happy
together. She did not want anyone to take Meg away.

2. "We cannot stop time." Comment


Marmee said this to Jo when they were talking about Mr. Brooke's love to Meg.
When Jo asked Marmee to let Mr. Brooke go away and leave them alone, Marmee
told her that they would all go away from her one day as we could not stop time.
