OK, so now we’re at the port of Rotterdam, Europe’s
biggest port. There are boats and ships, of course, and
here’s Rotterdam’s special floating park on the water at
the port. It opened in 2018, and it’s made completely
from recycled materials. It took a year and a half to
collect the plastic to make this floating park, and now
the public can take a break and enjoy the natural
beauty there. It’s a great habitat for birds and fish, too.
You can also see the litter traps in the water.
Unfortunately, plastic is thrown into the city’s canals,
but these traps prevent the plastic from going into the
ocean. In the future, the city hopes to use this plastic to
create more parks on the water. Any questions?
