Sattaya: Essence of Soul, a cultural unit of Bandhu Social Welfare Society (Bandhu) consisted of 45
transgender and hijra artists. The team performs dance pieces choreographed by renowned dance artists,
like Shamim Ara Nipa, Kabirul Islam Ratan, and others. Since 2006, the team has been beautifully
portraying issues of human rights, social discrimination, SRHR, and inclusive development of the gender-
diverse population of the country through its cultural activities. This troupe has performed in national and
international stages, including performance in the presence of the honorable President of Bangladesh.
