Council Of State Buddhism Essay
Besides the different actions of the emperors, the Council of State also created policies
that allowed Buddhism s power to rise. During the later half of the seventh century
during Kanmu s rule, it adopted policies to actively promote Buddhism by constructing
temples and statues, sponsoring rituals, copying sutras, and promoting monks and nuns.
However, before and into the Heian period, the Ritsuryo state existed a system that acted
as the patron and arbiter of religious cultures, which seeked to control the Buddhist
powers. It branched off into three divisions the Council for Kami Affairs, Bureau of Yin
and Yang, and Office for Monastic Affairs each with its own administrative body. In this
system, a form of Buddhismcalled state Buddhism emerged, which was sponsored by the
state in return for religiously protecting both the emperor and the Japanese region. State
Buddhism had three major characteristics that defined it; first, the Ritsuryo state
controlled Buddhism by regulating the ordination and promotion of monks and nuns,
while also controlling religious and financial activities. Second, the state made copies of

The system of ordaining monks was becoming too lenient, as many people only became
monks in order to reap the benefits of not having to do labor, being extremely selfish and
not committing themselves to the religion at all. Some monks even disobeyed the law
and got away with it by overpowering the local governors with violence. They had
become a threat to the local citizens as well as the government, which ultimately stripped
them of their influence for a while. However, years later, debate rituals emerged in
Buddhist rites as Buddhism was becoming more politicized, and the Tendai school was
able to win the heated arguments they had with other schools. They were successfully
able to assert their dominance over the Golden Light and Mahayana assemblies, winning
back the authority that they had
The Role Of Selflessness In X-Men s Movies
While watching X Men s movies you can never help but to realize no matter what new
character join the movies or die off, Wolverine is one of the important people on the
team. Not being on the IMDb list anymore, Logan petrays to audience to their values
stay true to who you are, but always do what is right. I will be talking about how the
producer uses flashbacks through the movie as a stylistic device, and on how it is hard
for someone to think about other people instead of them self. Giving things up in order
to help others is what comes to mind when hearing the word selflessness. Being raised
in a single home I was taught early on that no matter what may come my way to always
think about self last. Learning values and morales at

The way of assessing the effectiveness of Temasek s political risk management strategies
would be to evaluate gains and losses that may be associated with the political risks
which were taken.

Temasek investment portfolio and approach expose it to higher political risk. Then
Temasek should avoid investments in iconic overseas companies, go for minority stakes
in future investments, and seek local partners in making acquisitions.

Temasek should start to give press interviews. This can be interpreted as part of a
targeted public relations campaign that operates on two levels: on a broader, strategic
level, to dispel suspicions and rumors on Singapore and on a specific, tactical level, to
clarify public doubts on individual investments.

Temasek should following the path by many multinationals to win over local
communities by building a more visible corporate citizen image like Temasek Foundation

Essay On African American Community
Improving yourself is a great thing you could do, but what if you improved your whole
community? African Americans have been together for numerous centuries, especially in
the 19th century. Joined together, they have created things they never thought they could
ever achieve. They improved themselves through communication, different preaching
ways, and believing. African Americans had started to believe in God as a way of hope
for them through the harsh times of slavery. Later, when they started to gain a higher
voice, black leaders took a stand to speak out against slavery. Their Church is one of the
things they could look forward to going to every time they were in a bad state of mind.
They could go there to preach together as a community. The churches made by African
Americans had joined them together to make something more than they ever thought
they could achieve.

In the earlier years, the Churches made by slaves and other Africans grew to be very
popular, but now they don t have such a high voice as they had before. Today, the black
church is in crisis, with scholars claiming that it has lost its prophetic and ... Show more

Even though many people of the African community inspired each other, some of the
bigger people inspired the world. Civil rights activists have done many incredible things
for themselves, the Church, and their people. Besides nurturing charismatic ministers,
most of whom were men, black churches helped instill cooperative values in nonclerical
leaders, emphasizing democracy, equality, and caring for others (Taylor). As a
community, the church and its people helped inspire generations of people. Leaders who
have made a stance years ago are still remembered today as powerful motivators. One of
these African American men is Martin Luther King Jr. He wrote the I have a Dream
speech to speak up for the equality of blacks and
Analysis Of Rescued From The Reich By Bryan Rigg
In chapter three of the book, Rescued from the Reich, Bryan Rigg showcases a glimpse
into what life was like for the Jewish population in Warsaw, Poland during the month of
September, 1939. The chapter examines many horrifying experiences the Jews faced,
the role that God played in their lives, and how the Nazis were able to take over Poland
in a month s time. Furthermore, Rigg puts great focus on a key person in the chapter, the
Rebbe, who influenced the lives of many Jews. Through all the chaos that consumed
Warsaw, the Rebbe continued to teach the Jews to stay true to their beliefs.
Throughout chapter three of the book, Bryan Rigg evaluates the events that take place
throughout the Jews journey when Poland is at war with the Nazis and how the
Rebbe played a major role in the Jews lives. The point of view that the author, Bryan
Rigg, takes on is an objective perspective. The authors point of view is objective
because he is just stating facts that took place during a specific time period in history.
Additionally, the author does not include any bias or skepticism in the reading.
Furthermore, the fact that his reading does not include any of his own emotions,
feelings, or opinion backs up the idea that his point of view is from an objective
perspective. The author uses biblical quotations from the Rebbe and facts to reinforce his
main points. He also focuses on one main thread that he incorporates into the reading
throughout the chapter. This thread would be the huge role that God played in the Jews
life and how it helped them get through hard times while the Nazis were bombing and
invading Warsaw.
The chapter starts out describing the terror of war and the beginning of what would
become known as a tragic time period in history. Germany invaded Otwock, Poland on
September 1, 1939. Early that morning bombs were dropped awakening the frightened
yeshiva students of Otwock (p38). The students rushed to the Rebbe for instructions on
what to do from there and he instructed them to leave for Latvia, which was a neutral
country nearby. In addition, he informed them to not be afraid because God will always
protect them (p38). This context of the reading shows how people looked up to the
Rebbe by coming to him for

Toronto Zoo is the only Canadian zoo that breeds these ferrets and they aim to release
75 back into the wild every year. To keep track of the births of the species, Toronto Zoo
staff keep stud books, which contain the individual ferret s information about their birth
and pedigree. These studbooks are essential to avoid inbreeding the ferrets. Toronto Zoo
has been involved in breeding the Black Footed Ferrets since 1992, and since then they
have reintroduced hundreds of baby ferrets into prairie habitats in the United States,
Mexico and Canada. The Zoo tries to release as many ferrets as they can, but genetically
valuable ferrets are kept in the species survival plan for future breeding. Reintroducing
the ferrets into the wild is a high priority for the zoo staff as they want to re establish the
ferret s population across North America. After the ferrets are released, the Toronto Zoo
staff continue frequent monitoring sessions to examine the threats and to keep track of
the population and determine is any additional animals need to be added into the
