Atellica Data Manager (Atellica DM) Log In


and Log Out

Log In:
1. Select the Atellica DM desktop icon or locate
the program from the Windows Apps screen
2. Enter your Name and Password
3. Select Next
4. Current user name is displayed in the Status bar

Log Out:
1. Select the Sign Out icon or select the X in the
upper right corner of the system
2. Select Exit

Note: If you do not interact with the system within the 15-minute
timeout period, your session expires and you must log back in.

My Counters Thresholds

Atellica DM alerts the operator when a sample count exceeds its


threshold. The Home tab turns red and the relevant
counter displays

Acknowledging the alert causes the Command bar Home icon to


change from to

Note: Clicking on a counter to open the corresponding query


acknowledges an alert.
When the counter drops below the alert threshold value, Atellica
DM removes from both the Command bar and the counter

Note: The alert status of the Home icon reflects the highest severity of
all counters. The Home icon will remain red until all alerting counters
are acknowledged. The Home icon will display the red triangle until all
alerting counters are equal to or less than alert thresholds.

Highlighting and Selecting Records To select a single record:

Locating Browser Records

Status Definitions

The status of a sample will reflect the lowest (earliest) status of a test request within the sample.

Status Definition
Pending (PND) Created and downloaded from the LIS

Rerun (RRN) Rerun automatically or manually

Scheduled (SCH) Test request have been downloaded to the instrument

Review (REV) Test result needs to be manually reviewed

Validated (VAL) Request is validated by the operator or automatic validation

Upload (UPL) Uploaded to the LIS

Omitted (OMT) Omitted test and will not be uploaded to the LIS

Sample Search using Sample Query

Review and Edit Features

1. Information and warnings area:


• Operator name and time: if an operator views a sample 1

Color Display in the QC Results Browser

The colored graph columns display the portion of the


value relative to its population reference value and
reference deviation.

Colored zones represent the following number of


standard deviations:
• Gray: between -1SD and 1SD
• Green: between -1SD and -2SD or 1SD and 2SD
• Yellow: between -2SD and -3SD or 2SD and 3SD
• Red: more than -3SD or 3SD

Values within the graph columns display as one of the


following:
• Arrow: outliers further than 4SD from reference
• Dot: QC results within the 4SD range
• Solid: non-omitted QC results

Tests with an Enumerated control data type display the


following in the graph columns:
• A bullet point in the 0 column when the result choice
severity is 0
• A left arrow in the -3 column and a right arrow in the +3
column when the result choice severity is not 0

QC Alerts

QC alerts trigger when the QC severity of an assay is of equal


or higher value than the value operators specify for the QC
severity limit for alerts.

Operators can define a QC severity limit that prompts an alert


for each test on a system, and designate the severity of the
corresponding alert as low, medium, or high:
• High severity alerts display as red in the QC Alerts tab
• Medium severity alerts display as orange in the QC

• Low severity alerts display as yellow in the QC Alerts tab

Reset QC Severity

After the assay QC severity of a given QC result exceeds


the assay QC severity limit, the Test, Instrument, and 1
String value columns of all subsequent QC results
remain red until the QC problem is addressed and 2
operators perform the Reset Severity function.

1. Select the QC Alerts tab OR from the Home tab,


select a portion of the QC Alerts doughnut chart to
open the QC Alerts tab
2. Select the QC result associated with the assay that
needs resetting

Watchdog Dashboard

The Watchdog Dashboard connects to the Watchdog service.


Operators can access the Watchdog Dashboard by selecting the
Dashboard icon on the Status bar of Atellica DM or by selecting
the Dashboard icon from the desktop.

The Watchdog Dashboard icon changes color to notify


operators of watchdog related alerts or warnings while working
in the main Atellica DM application:
• Red indicates there are alerts for 1 or more watchdog items
• Yellow indicates there are warnings for 1 or more watchdog
items

The alert severity of the Dashboard icon reflects the highest


Note: The Watchdog service must be on for alerts to display in ADM. The Watchdog
alert severity within the Watchdog service. Dashboard does not need to be on for alerts to display in ADM.

Watchdog Communication Tab

The Watchdog Communication tab displays the status of


translator servers, translators and services.
• The background color of the Communication tab turns red
when the system detects an issue with one of the translator
servers, translators, message queues or communication
engines

Assign a Role to a User

After adding a new user, a role must be assigned. Atellica DM has


four default roles: Guest, User, System manager and Developer.

Note: Additional roles can be defined by navigating to


Menu > System Management > Security > Roles > OK.

1. From the Users tab under the Utilities tab, select a desired
active user by highlighting a user line
2. Right click and select Related > User role assignments
