The Failure of the Schlieffen Plan and Its Effects on the German Defeat on the
Western Front By the spring of 1914, imperial Germany was spoiling for war.
Germany s leaders were determined to break up the Triple Entente of Britain, France
Russia that had isolated Germany in Europe thwarted its territorial ambitions. And when
Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated on June 28 1914 it gave Kaiser Wilhelm
the reason to declare war. In the diplomatic controversy growing out of the assassination,
the Kaiser backed Austria Hungary totally opposed Russia. This started a series of
political military tactics that made a war inevitable. The constraints of The German

However, many long term causes arose from the consequences of the Schlieffen plans
failure. The German inability to control the high seas is a clear reason for her defeat.
Neither the allies nor the Germans wanted a war at sea, as the winning navy would
gain control of the trade routes thus would basically end the war, as the losing side
would be unable to bring resources in for their army or people. Though the Battle Of
Jutland (31st May 1916) was a failure, for even though the British lost more vessels the
Germans retreated back to harbour, not to leave for the rest of the war, with no real
winner, both sides claimed an equally shared victory. The British navy were also hard at
work organising an economic blockade to cut off Germany s food supply by stopping
neutral ships and confiscating cargo that could have been taken to Germany. The German
reply to the blockade led to the turning point of the war, unable to battle the British on the
sea they concentrated on conducting a successful U Boat campaign to starve the British
into submission, by sinking Merchant ships taking supplies to Britain. Yet again, Britain
outmanoeuvred a strong German tactic by introducing the Convoy System, a plan
devised to stop the sinking of merchant ships by U Boats, by positioning 4 5 British

I thought to myself this is the day that I join. I have filled out all the papers and I just
got dropped off at the bus station. My mom had said to me,¨Stay safe and I love you
Brandon. The bus took about 45 minutes to get at the bus depot. As more and more
people came seeking either adventure or to serve their country, I was there for a
different reason and that was to get somewhere in life and to someday be a somebody.
As the bus came around the corner to a screeching halt, we all boarded the bus. I found
a seat in the back of the bus next to a tall attractive girl or so to become soldier. She
had silky blonde hair that glistened when light hit it, she also had pearly white teeth. I
could barely keep calm she was the perfect girl and I got to sit next to her. I just could not
believe it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bus ride took most of the afternoon 6 hours to be exact. Me and Jessica just talked
about how we are going to miss home for the next nine months. She also talked about
how her father had passed away from pancreatic cancer. She said,¨I just wanna make
daddy proud.¨ Her mother had divorced her father when she was only 3 years old and
that she only remembers the face her mother made when she walked out the door. It
was a depressing story and i ve never heard anything like that. I teared up a little
listening to the story. As we approached the Marine base and as I exited the crisp cold
air hit me like a blizzard. Then we went inside and we sat a little, for registration and
again I sat right next to Jessica. After registration we prepared our clothes and our bunks

Balance Sheet Essay
The balance sheet, also known as the statement of financial position, includes an
analysis of all the firm s assets and liabilities. The balance sheet is a description of the
firm s financial standing at an instance in time. When navigating through a balance
sheet one notices that it is divided into two sections, the left side includes all of the
firm s assets and the right side lists all of the firm s liabilities. A firm s assets accounts
for the cash, property, inventory, facility, equipment, and other investments the firm has
made in order to operate. The liabilities of a firm are the legal debts and obligations the
firm obtains during its course of business. Included on the side of liabilities is the
stockholders equity, which accounts for the difference between the firm s assets and
liabilities. Stockholders equity is a measure of the net worth of a firm. The expression
balance sheet describes the equilibrium set by the balance sheetidentity:
Assets = Liabilities + Stockholders Equity The poise between a firm s assets (capital and
investments) versus its liabilities (source of capital), and stockholders equity are
detrimental to the integrity of the balance sheet.

Breast Calcification Research Paper
By Jonas Wilson, Ing. Med.
Diagnosing calcification
In addition to routine blood and biochemical tests to check for underlying factors such
as hypovitaminosis K, hypervitaminosis D or hypercalcemia, X rays (e.g. for the
breasts) and CT scans (e.g. for the brain) may be used to detect calcifying deposits. The
two types of breasts calcifications, macro and micro calcifications look like large
randomly dispersed dots and white specks on the mammogram (breast X ray),
respectively. Breast calcification tissue may be removed and biopsied in order to rule
out more serious pathologies such as cancer.
Arterial calcifications, for example in the coronary arteries, may be detected in vivo (in
a living person) by methods such as electron beam computed tomography (EBCT)
coronary arteriography, plain film X rays, fluoroscopy, intravascular ultrasound, MRI and
CT scan. EBCT and fluoroscopy are the most commonly used techniques in the blood
vessel investigations, while CT scans are very sensitive for the detection as well as the
localization of intracranial calcifications. Calcifications produce the appearance of high
density material on CT scans and X rays.
