4 Water: Water from each source shall be got
tested before the commencement of
work and thereafter once in every
three months till the completion of the
work. Water from municipal source
need to be tested only once in six
months. Number of tests for each
source shall be three.

Weight Checking :  As per 1786:2008, Tolerance on nominal mass:

 up to 10mm: 7%
 over 10mm and including 16mm: 5%
 over 16mm: 3%

 Density adopted: 7850kg/m3

Bend Test :  As per 1599, shall confirm if no rupture or cracks visible to a person of normal or corrected vision on
the bent portion.

Re-bend Test :  As per 1786:2008, if no rupture or cracks visible to a person of normal or corrected vision on the bent
portion.

Tensile Test :  0.2 percent proof stress/yield stress, shall be minimum 500Mpa
 Elongation per cent Minimum on gauge length 5.65sqrt(A),15% for Fe500 and 16% for Fe500D
 Modulus of Elasticity shall be 2x105 Mpa

Bond Test :  Shall confirm to IS2770(Part 1), the bond strength calculated form the load at a measure slip of
0.025mm and 0.25mm for deformed bars shall exceed that of a plain round bar of the same nominal
size by 40% and 80% respectively

Absorption test
:  Immersing brick in water for 24 hrs. The difference between dry and wet bricks shall be less
than 20%

Compression Test :  Minimum compressive strength of brick shall be 3.5MPa

Hardness Check :  Sharp tool should not render any scratches in the specimen.

Color :  Shall possess bright uniform color through and through.

Soundness Test of :  When two bricks are struck with one another, clear bell ringing sound and brick should not break.
