Curriculum: Study of various properties of construction materials such as aggregates, brick,


concrete, steel, bitumen, and soil; study of testing methods and standard specifications for strength,
durability and other properties of construction materials systems

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Do not use cell phone during the laboratory class.


2. Familiarize yourself with all the laboratory procedures before the start of the class.
3. Each batch of students conducting an experiment is responsible for the equipment used.
4. Laboratory workspace should be meticulously cleaned before leaving.
5. Task for a particular lab class/session should be completed within that week.
6. Do wear shoes while conducting the experiments; Do not wear loose clothes.

ASSESSMENT PATTERN

Lab Records - 75% marks


Lab Records should be uploaded to the Moodle by 23:55 Hrs on the following
Wednesday. The reports will be graded within the next one week and the feedback
will be uploaded for viewing by the students.

Final Exam - 25% (objective type questions)- 90 minutes duration.

LAB RECORD FORMAT AND SUBMISSION

The laboratory records should follow the format given below.

1. Name, Roll no., Group no., Title of the Experiment and Date (on top of the first page)
2. Observations and calculations (scan copy of duly filled in standard data sheets provided in
the lab, with signature of the respective Tas)-
3. Results and Discussion
4. The scan copy to be uploaded under the provision made for respective week’s submission in
the moodle page of CE3401-July-Nov 2023 semester as per above schedule
