 Increase cognitive, affective and behavioral learning
 Strengthen mode of communication
 Affects student’s confident to speak up in a right way

How does it affect or help as a future educator?


The value of being an assertive teacher
 Assertive behavior is neither passivity nor aggressiveness. It is a calm, confident way of
interacting that enables you to derive the best outcome from any given situation.
 Assertiveness enables teachers to engage in a professional, confident manner with all
colleagues, regardless of status, to gain fair and positive outcomes. It also allows the
development of positive, respectful relationships with learners.
 When you communicate assertively, you show respect for yourself and others, and you
avoid misunderstandings and conflicts.
