"It Matters to this one"

My Reflection to this poem is , A boy stands on the beach, where hundreds of starfish have
been swept up by the waves and stranded there to die. He’s throwing the starfish back in the water, one
by one, so they can survive. A grownup watches him for a minute from up on the boardwalk, and then
yells down, “You can’t possibly throw all those starfish back in the water. You could stand there all night
throwing starfish it won’t matter.”The lesson each of us learns from the starfish story is that we may not
be able to save the world, but we can do something! Further, it is very important to do what we can to
make a difference. Starfish Pins symbolize the lessons learned in the Starfish Story. Thus, it tells about a
young boy who tried to make a difference. We’ve heard this story many times over the years and
perhaps you have too. But we believe that we need to be reminded of its message often, a message that
bears repeating over and over again.
