CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

1.1 Overview

This project is developed as a web-based application to allow users to be able to donate anything

to the organization. This software is totally avoiding from any scammers who intended to take

the donation’s item for their own sake. The system will record all the donor’s information, Date

and time delivering and received item also will be recorded in the database. The user can register

and make their donation.

As we all know charity giving is the demonstration of giving cash, products or time to the

grievous, either straightforwardly or by methods for a magnanimous trust or other admirable

motivation. Altruistic giving as a strict demonstration or obligation is alluded to as almsgiving or

contributions. The name originates from the clearest articulation of the ideals of noble cause;

giving the beneficiaries of it the methods they need to endure. The devastated, especially those

bereaved or stranded, and the feeble or harmed, are for the most part viewed as the appropriate

beneficiaries of good cause. The individuals who can't uphold themselves and need outside

methods for help occasionally become "hobos", straightforwardly requesting help from outsiders

experienced openly. In this chapter, the background of the study, statement of problem, aim and

objectives, significance of the study, as well as the scope of the study will all be discussed.

(Dunn, Alison 2020).

1.2 Background of the Study

In the past years, philanthropy as a field has advanced in its knowledge by sharing or reaching

out to many donors and volunteers (Johnson, 2007).

This has made many organizations to change their way of collecting funds or donations from

various donors. Non-governmental organizations who manage their operations from sources such

as membership fees, government contracts, sales of services and goods, commercial ventures and

partnerships use charity as the core source and form of support to support organizations around

the world (Higgigs, 2006).

Charity is an important component for the organizations success. It is important for the

organization’s survival, expansion and development (Norton, 1998).

In the current system scenario concerning charity management, non-governmental organizations

such as the Institute of Charity Management are involved in collecting donations and funds from

other organizations to carry out charity activities. However, there exists various challenges in the

current system. There is lack of trust from the public especially when it comes to fundraising for

charity hence the rate in which people donate or pay for charity has recently reduced (Gilbert,

2019). Poor communication is also a challenge that exits in the current system of charity

management hence little communication between the organization and various donors. A lot of

resources are being used in NGOs during charity hence the need to develop a charity

management system to increase efficiency.

Studies have likewise discovered that "people who are strict are bound to offer cash to

magnanimous associations" and they are additionally bound to give more cash than the

individuals who are not strict. Among those people are individuals from American strict

networks, about whom the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding led a new report with

respect to humanitarian and altruistic giving. The investigation found that American Muslim gift

designs with regards to beneficent giving adjust generally with other American confidence
gatherings, similar to Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish people group, yet that American Muslims

were bound to give out of a feeling of strict commitment and a conviction that the individuals

who have should provide for the individuals who don't. The examination additionally found that

most American confidence bunches organize noble cause towards their own places of love with

regards to financial gifts, and afterward different causes. Muslims and Jews offered more than

other strict gatherings to social liberties security associations, while white Evangelical

Christians, trailed by Protestants and afterward Catholics, were the destined to make

magnanimous commitments to youth and family benefits. (American Muslim Philanthropy by

Faiqa Mahmood,2019).

Organizations developed to complete the work of helping poor people, and these establishments,

called good cause, give the heft of magnanimous giving today, as far as money related worth.

These incorporate shelters, food banks, strict foundations committed to mind of poor people,

clinics, associations that visit the homebound and detained, and numerous others. Such

foundations permit those whose time or tendency doesn't loan themselves to straightforwardly

focus on the poor to empower others to do as such, both by giving cash to the work and

supporting them while they accomplish the work. Establishments can likewise endeavor to all the

more viably figure out the real penniless from the individuals who deceitfully guarantee good

cause. Early Christians especially prescribed the consideration of the heartbreaking to the charge

of the neighborhood minister

1.3 Statement of the Problem

encouraged to visit one of the nearest charity organizations. Alternatively, they can reach out by
calling a provided personal cell phone number to schedule an appointment for a more in-depth

necessarily book an appointment.

iii. Although most of these organizations have attracted a good number of donors and NGOs,

they are yet to achieve the desired number of individuals/donors as originally planned.

The new system will help a lot to prevent those negative issues. Cheating issues by non-integrity

people rising illegally these days, this system is a platform for people who have no idea where to

donate and some might have no time to go to the place to give their donation’s item.
