NAME: weaving

STYLE: basket

TECHNIQUE: weaving

MATERIALS: wicker and bamboo

NARRATIVE: The sun beat down on the old woman’s face as she walked through the dusty marketplace. Her
basket, heavy with mangoes and papayas, creaked against her hip. She’d been weaving baskets since she was
a girl, her fingers nimble and strong. Each basket was a story, its imperfections a testament to the life it had
lived. This one, with its worn leather handle and sun-bleached straw, had seen years of harvests, picnics, and
market days. It was more than just a basket; it was a companion, a silent witness to her life.

NAME: Assemblage

STYLE: Cat

TECHNIQUE: Assemblage MATERIALS: Card board, plastic fork, cup, and black paint

NARRATIVE: In the flickering lamplight of an abandoned attic, a symphony of shadows danced. Amongst
cobwebbed furniture and forgotten toys, a cardboard cat with eyes of glinting plastic forks watched patiently.
Its fur, once a vibrant mosaic of cereal box hues, was now dulled with dust, its edges softened by the passage
of time. This was Grimalkin, a creature both protector and prisoner of the forgotten things. Legends whispered
of its creation, a twisted spell cast by a vengeful child, binding its spirit to the cardboard and plastic bones.
Grimalkin knew only the hush of the attic, the skittering of unseen things, and the echo of memories long
turned to dust. But tonight, a new sound pierced the silence - the creak of floorboards, the thud of a dropped
book. Grimalkin's plastic fork eyes narrowed, its cardboard form tensing. For the first time in years, the attic
was no longer alone. And Grimalkin, the guardian of forgotten things, would not allow its domain to be
disturbed.
