Technical Specification | 6-75-02 for Architectural works (Plastering and Pointing) 3.0 CLEARING AND STRIPPING 3.1 The areas including depressions, where filling or cutting is to be carried out shall be cleared and stripped offcompletely of bushes, roots, vegetation, shrubs, trees upto 30 cm girth and organic and objectionable materials. All these should be completely uprooted and virgin soil exposed and not merely scrapped at the surface. All soft patches must be worked out to remove soft soil and selected approved earth must be filled back and the areas ( areas coming under filling) compacted to obtain 90% of maximum laboratory dry, density of soil. Material obtained from clearing shall be stacked or disposed off as directed by Engineer-in- Charge within a lead of 100 M No seperate payment shall be made for clearing, stripping and disposal of material obtained from clearing. This shall be considered as part of work in areas of cutting and filling work and the rates quoted under the respective items of :- i) Earthwork in excavation/cutting and ii) Earthwork in filling (both with available earth & earth excavated from approved borrow areas) shall be inclusive of clearing and stripping with all operations described above, in respective areas of cutting and filling, cutting of trees girth 30 cm and below, up-rooting, removal of materials obtained from clearing within a lead of 100 M as directed, filling holes or hollows produced by removal of roots etc. with approved earth for all leads & lifts, watering, ramming, compacting to obtain 90% of maximum, laboratory dry density of soil, dressing, testing etc. complete. No separate payment shall be made for clearing; stripping and disposal of materials obtained from clearing of borrow areas for earth as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. This shall be considered a part of filling work and rates quoted under the respective items of filling will be deemed to include such costs. EARTHWORK IN FILLING ALONG THE LENGTH OF COMPOUND WALL ‘After clearing and stripping as mentioned earlier the original ground shall be scrapped to a depth of 15 cms from existing ground level and virgin soil exposed, such exposed surface must be consolidated to 90% of the max. lab dry density of soil as described in clause 3.0 earlier. Ell-1641-507 Aa 210x297 copied, exhibited or used, except 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 5.0 5.1 SLL 5.1.2 The ground levels in these areas after clearing, stripping & consolidating shall be taken Jointly by the contractor and the Engineet-in-Charge before commencing the filling and the same shall be signed by the contractor in token of acceptance. The levels shall be taken at intervals as decided by Engineer-in-Charge ‘Approved filling material shall be spread in uniform layers not exceeding 15 cms in loose thickness. Al clods, lumps etc. shall be broken before compaction. Successive layers of filling shall not be placed until the layer under construction has been well compacted with necessary watering to obtain at least 90% of maximum laboratory dry density. The filling shall be finished in conformity with the alignment, levels, cross section and dimensions as shown in the drawing, Extra material shall be removed and disposed off as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Payment for filling shall be made on cubic metre basis of the volume calculated from the cross section plotted from the levels of ground as referred to in 4.2 above and the levels reached after filling with proper consolidation. The rate shall include clearing, stripping, compaction of original ground, transportation of earth, watering, consolidating, testing etc. complete. BARBED WIRE FOR ANTICLIMBING DEVICE OVER COMPOUND WALL Structural Steel Posts for Anticlimbing Device Structural steel shall conform to IS : 2062. Structural steel work shall be fabricated and erected as shown in the drawings, Fabrication and Erection shall conform to IS : 800. Maker's test certificate, shall be made available to the Engineer-in-Charge when called for. 5.14 Electrodes for welding shall conform to IS : 814 and 815 or equivalent. Welding shall be carried out as shown in the relevant drawing and shall confrom to IS :816. The weightshall be calculated on the basis of IS hand book. The rate shall include supply of all necessary materials and labour for fabrication, erection, painting etc. complete as per drawingsand directions of Engineer- in-Charge. The rates quoted should also include fixing and grouting the iron posts with cement concrete M-15, curing, scafol Barbed Wire for Anticlimbing Device. Barbed wire shall conform to IS : 278. The coating on the wire shall be smooth and relatively free of lumps, globes or points, wires with excessive roughness, blisters, salammoniac spots shall be rejected. Barbed wire shall be made from two strands of galvanised, twisted 2.5 mm (12 gauge) steel wire with 4 poi s of barbs. Each barb shall have two turns tightening around one of both line wires making altogether four complete turns, The barbs shall be so finished that four points are set and looked at right angles to each other. The barbs shall also be of gauge 12. Bracing of the rows of barbed wire shall be as shown in drawing All miscellaneous material, the staples, st ining bolts etc. shall be galvanised. Minimum length of staples shall be 40 mm. ‘The fencing shall be plump, taut, true to line and complete in all respects. The barbs shall have a length of not less than 13 mm and not more than 18 mm. Payment for barbed wire shall be made on running metre basis of two ply, four points barbed wire fixed in position. The rate shall include supplying and fixing necessary G.I. staples, clips, pins, straining bolts etc. tensioning the barbed wire etc. and all materials, labour etc. required to complete the job.
