Justification

The purpose of this research is to learn more about the Sierra and their customs and families.

Background

The bulk of the population was mestizo and engaged in rural work, urban and domestic trades. They
lived on small ranches where many families were grouped in the same space. Mestizo women were
servants, cooks or seamstresses, while men were servants or laborers.

In the different social sectors, the family was not made up exclusively of parents and children, since it
was usually also composed of grandparents, uncles, cousins, in-laws, sons-in-law, brothers-in-law
and godchildren.

Objectives

Learn more about mountain families by applying the use of English.


Learn more about the Sierra its customs, foods, climate, etc.
Research Questions

1. What does the Sierra region have?


2. What is its climate?
3. What do the people of the Sierra do?
4. How do the people of the Sierra dress?
5. What are their typical foods?
6. What are their customs and traditions?

Development of research of topics distributed in the tasks


We can use the knowledge learned regarding topics such as: Possesssive adjectives, and
elaborate sentences with the investigated topic.

Do the people of the Sierra wear warm clothing? Yes, they are.
Is the climate of the Sierra cold? Yes, it is.
Remarks
It can be seen that in the Sierra there are several topics to talk about such as: Customs and
traditions, typical foods, clothing, jobs, climate, places, etc.

Product Design
Generation of answers to the questions posed

1. What is the Sierra region like?


The Sierra Region has very mountains, paramos, forests, volcanoes, lakes and rivers.
2. What is its climate?
Its weather is cold.
3. What do the people of the Sierra do?
The people work in farming, mining, rancher and weaving.
4. How do the people of the Sierra dress?
The people wear warm clothes for example: coats, hat, pants, boots, sandals and scarves
5. What are their typical foods?
The typical food in the Sierra region is hornado, fritada, cuy, caldo de 31, motepillo.
6. What are their customs and traditions?
The people celebrate very ceremonies. The principals are Inty Raimy, Diablo de Pillaro and
Mama Negra.

Conclusions
The purpose of this research is to learn more about the Sierra and their customs and families.

Las families were larger being made up of grandparents, uncles, cousins, in-laws, sons-in-law,
brothers-in-law and godchildren.
