1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 OBJECTIVES
The goal of this task is to learn and practice the writing of a film criticism and show
how much we have learned from this subject.

1.2 METHODOLOGY
This task had been done in three parts. Initially, the movie that would be reviewed
was chosen, considering that wasn’t known before. First of all, a research was made, focusing
on the characters and actors, the director and some specifics about the movie. Also, if this
kind of movie is already usual for the director or if it is something new, and some other
details.
After this short research, it was time to watch the movie and see how it would be.
During the movie, some notes and observations were made, in order to develop the review of
the movie.
The last part, as expected, was the writing of the review, using the notes and the
information already known, besides my own and unique opinion about the film.
2. THE MOVIE REVIEW

Some time ago, I heard people talking about a movie that was released on Netflix. I
saw some good and some bad reviews about it, and that made me curious to watch the movie.
So, as I have a college task to do, related to reviewing a movie, I decided that I would be
reviewing this one.
The movie I chose is called Run, and the sinopsis at the platform let us know that the
movie is about a mother and her teenage daughter. The girl, whose name is Chloe, is or was
sick, and being isolated from everything, receiving medical care, and she can’t take this
reality anymore. She starts to suspect that her mother is holding her back besides hiding some
sinister secrets.
The movie is considered to be a suspenseful movie, and fits in two genres, Horror and
Thriller. At IMDb website, the movie has a review of 6.7 stars. Not so good, but not so bad
too.
The director of the movie is called Aneesh Chaganty, and he wrote the movie script
along with Sev Ohanian. Aneesh is an Indian-American film director and screenwriter, and
his movies usually follow the thriller genre path, involved by some extras, like horror or
mystery. Run is his second extended movie. Before this one, he directed and wrote another
movie called Searching, and besides these two movies, he had done some short movies, being
in this career since 2014.
In the movie, we have a well known actress, Sarah Paulson, who starred in many
movies and TV shows, for example American Horror Story. Other actors that participated in
this movie were Kiera Allen, Pat Healy and Sara Ohanian.
