environment and in the workplace. The important part of developing these skills will involve learning to
work collaboratively and productively with others, as well as reflecting on engagement with the new ideas
and practices.

Due: Session 12 (.pdf version of the slides must be submitted on Canvas before the session)

Assessment 3: Capstone project (15%)

Capstone project is a collection of “course artifacts” showcasing students’ learning as related to the unit
learning outcomes. Artifacts are based on weekly in-class and HW assignments submitted on Canvas, as
well as other work produced in the course. Each of the chosen artifacts should be commented on in a
video presentation by giving a critical reflection of how this item relates to the student’s achievement of
the learning outcomes of the course. Course artifacts may include: any of the weekly homework
assignments, in-class assignments, class notes, individual contribution to group essay or presentation or
notes in preparation. Format of the submitted Capstone project: a recording of a screencast
presentation accompanied by the .pdf collection of the artifacts. The guidelines for critical reflections

Additional notes on the weekly homework: Homework assignments are focused on the practical
application of relevant skills. The format of assignments can include emails, pre-recorded video
presentations, mini-reports or essays, research notes, or other types as instructed by the lecturer.
Homework assignments will be submitted on Canvas weekly, in groups or individually, and marked either
complete or incomplete.

The individual assignment cover sheet should be used in the submission file (see Canvas).

Format: .pdf file of the project; the title page should include the link to a video recording file stored on
Google Drive (enable access for “Anyone with the link” in the sharing settings)

Length of the video: 8-10 minutes

Formatting guidelines

▪ Assessments should be submitted strictly in the required file formats, unless otherwise instructed
by the lecturer.

▪ Submissions should follow general APA7 formatting guidelines, unless otherwise instructed by the
lecturer. General formatting guidelines: 12-point Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing, a space between
paragraphs.

▪ The WSU cover sheet should be followed by an APA formatted title page (an example can be
found here).

Lecturers reserve the right not to mark any submission which does not meet the
formatting requirements or does not include a cover sheet.

Late assignment and make-up policy

All quizzes and assignments must be taken and submitted on the assigned dates. If there are extenuating or
unforeseen circumstances, the school office must be contacted prior to the assignment dates to authorize a
make-up if required. No make-up assignments will be accepted unless a prior approval is granted by the
school based on a Special Consideration Application for a supplementary examination.

For all assignments submitted within 3 days after the due date, 10% of the total grade
will be deducted. Assignments will NOT be accepted more than 3 days after the due
date.

Referencing requirements
Student assignments are to contain original content created by the students. Assignments will be rejected
if they include plagiarized content or contain excessive amounts of quoted/cited material and minimal
original content. Students will receive a grade of ZERO (0%) for any assignments rejected for this
reason. Written assignments will be checked by the lecturer with Turnitin.com, an online plagiarism-
checking tool.

The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th ed. will serve as the
primary reference guide for the subject. Therefore, all papers must be submitted in the APA format. The

mechanics of student papers and work will be evaluated, as well as the content.

Attendance and other class policies

Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to pass the subject. Arriving to
class late by 15 minutes at the beginning, arriving late by 5 minutes after the break, or leaving prior to the
scheduled end time without the permission of the lecturer will equate to an absence. Class attendance is
compulsory and students should provide reasons and evidence for the failure to attend the class on a
particular session.

For other class policies and rules students should follow the official student handbook as well as contact
the lecturers.
