Medchal – Malkajgiri Carved out of erstwhile Ranga Reddy district, the new district of
Medchal – Malkajgiri is a true blend of all the requisite components that make an ideal district. It
embraces a wide range of industries, education institutions, natural resources. One can find a
delicate fusion of the urban and the rural in this new district. Medchal – Malkajgiri is a well
connected district with 3 national highways and 2 state highways apart from many roadways
running across the district. The district can be described as the link between Hyderabad and the
north Telangana. With long ORR connecting to International Air Port in very proximity.
Medchal – Malkajgiri district, with 22.5 lakh population, is the second most populous
district in the state of Telangana, standing next only to Hyderabad district ( 40 lakhs). The
district comprises of 2 revenue divisions and 14 mandals. Medchal is the headquarters of the
district. Lush with urban forests, pilgrim centres like Keesara Gutta and multiple recreational
resorts, the district is a weekend attraction for many in around the city of Hyderabad. This
district is having 164 lakes, encouraging so many Commercial Crops ,
In addition to the above, as the Telangana Industrial Policy is very attractive and
the Medchal – Malkajgiri District is very good destination for the Industrialists to establish

4. District Profile
a) General Profile
The Medchal – Malkajgiri is located in the Central Part of the Deccan Plateau and lies
between 1600 30` and 1800 20`of North Latitude and 7700 30`and 790030 East Longitudes.
The District is bounded on the north Medak & Siddipet Districts, East by Yadadri-
Bhuvanagiri District, South Rangareddy District, West by Hyderabad & Rangareddy Districts.

Climate:
The Climate of the District is characterized by a hot summer and is generally dry except
during the South west monsoon season.
Temperature:
The mean maximum temperature begins to raise from the middle of February and reaches a
maximum of about 440 C., in May. With the onset of the South west Monsoon into the District
early in June, there is appreciable drop in temperatures and the weather becomes more pleasant
