CanRig Model 1275AC-681 750 ton Top Drive System

1. Introduction
This is the technical agreement for supplying 1 set of Canrig Model 1275-681
750 ton Top Drive System.

1.1 General requirement


1.1.1 The equipment actual weight, gravity center and dimension shall be in
accordance with technical documents and contract. The supplier shall
formulate a systematic weight controlling procedure to control equipment
weight and avoid weight excess.
1.1.2 The seller shall provide the lifting point supportive document when
required by the buyer. Every lifting point shall be marked with safe working
load.
1.1.3 The material, machinery and equipment, except the special agreement,
shall be produced according to the country or the ministry or the factory
standard generally through the buyer approval.
1.1.4 Before delivery, the equipments shall be completely cleaned to eliminate
oil, dust, incrustation and other impurities. All the pipes shall be cleaned and
sealed before transportation. For the equipments with pipe fittings, the fittings
shall be marked in English to show the corresponding equipments fitting’s
name.
1.1.5 All bolts, nuts, flat gaskets and split pin shall be zinc plated treatment or
stainless steel (no include chromeplate and nickelage); pin and safty pin shall
be done the preservative treatment in order to reach the high preservative
requirement.
1.1.6 All the equipments and parts shall be free of asbestos.
1.1.7 All the equipments shall be proper, effective protected, in order to
prevent from the damage and destroy during the construction.
1.1.8 Oil pipe and fittings shall be zinc chromate.
1.1.9 All the equipments cables and cable installation shall comply with IEC
standards for marine application, and with ABS or CCS certificates; power
cable and controlling cable connected with equipments shall adopt the cable
grand, the threads shall be NPT threads. Cable with better quality is also ok.
1.1.10 Power cable, controlling and lighting cable shall be marine cable.
1.1.11 Meet the requirements of marine painting.

1.2 Product description


The main AC motor of the top drive is using GE-B20 motor (should
included with ABS or CCS product certificate), GE is the well-known brand in
the world for electric motor. Very stable and easy to control the technique,
suitable for harsh environment drilling operation.
CANRIG TOP DRIVE equiped with special back-up hydraulic motor, which can
keep low speed running even if frequency converter fails and halt down is
unnecessary, therefore, the back-up hydraulic motor can slowly unscrew when
tool-jam happens. The maximum break-out torque reaches 90000 ft.lbs.

TOP DRIVE Hydraulic Torque Boost System (back-up system) can keep drilling
by AC drived hydraulic power with max. torque 37500 ft.lbs.

FLOATING QUILL can move 8 inches up and down when making up the drill
pipe, therefore, bears no top drive weight on the drill pipe and can protect the
DP thread and absorb vibration. So that consequetly extend the DP life.

Advanced Diagnosis System (ADS): by use of PLC resources which control


CANRIG TOP DRIVE, the ADS can monitor working status of the TOP DRIVE
System, relevant control and power system. If some problem reports or
difference beyond the nomal operation parameters occurs, ADS can
automatically evaluated it and indicate to the operator about the information
report and fault cause.

There are 2 top drive damping cylinders which installed on the elevator link seat
which support the hook, to act a buffer while running in.

3.2 Special Requirements


3.2.1 Require top drive encoder resolution to be 1024 instead of 2048.
3.2.2 The top drive system supplied for this project includes the top drive,
HPU and Control Console. VFD will be supplied by the user. The Seller will
help to integrate the VFD control with the CanRig master Station.
3.2.3 The seller will supply the service loops and the derrick termination kit.
Hydraulic & Electrical Service loops length to be 77ft.
3.2.4 The hydraulic hoses between the top drive, upper J-box & mounting
kit will be supplied by the seller.
3.2.5 The guide track will be dual rails, and will be supplied by the buyer.
3.2.6 The detailed interfacing will base on the agreement of the buyer, the
seller, the shipyard and the electrical control system supplier.
3.2.7 The up J-box will be installation by supplier with accessory.
3.2.8 On top of the Control & Interface Panel (CIP) should have a cover
plate for protection.
3.2.9 Platform provide 600V, 50Hz, 3 phase power for top drive system and
380V, 50Hz, 3 phase power for HPU.
3.2.10 Top Drive dressed for 5-1/2” drill pipe.

4. Working Condition
4.1 General equipments shall be capable of working under the full weather
conditions of working ambient temp. -20℃ ~ ﹢ 50℃ , humidity≤90%
(+20℃), marine moisture, salt fog.
4.2 The noise level shall be conformed to IMO 468(XII) standard.
4.3 The equipments to be fastened firmly with the vessel and withstand the
single swing amplitude of 15°/10s when vessel towing.
5. Document
5.1. The operation and maintenance manual shall include the description of
hoisting, transporting, installation, commissioning, maintenance, safety,
piping, parts list and graphic illustration of relevant internal structure, and
with proper illustration and dimension drawings.

5.2. The maintenance manual shall clearly indicate the lubrication locations,
lubrication period, oil specification and their schematic diagrams. For oil
lubricating, the oil specification, checking method, replacing period, oil
consumption and processing method under specified condition shall be
pointed out.

5.3. The following certificates and documents shall be provided after


equipments dispatch.
5.3.1 Product certificate shall be English version, with 1 original and 3
copies.
5.3.2 One (1) Copy Quality Control System prove document
5.3.3 Factory Acceptance Test, with 1 original and 3 copies.
5.3.4 Eight (8) copies of the whole assembly drawing, structural
drawing, electricity and principle diagram, electrical wire
connection diagram, Top Drive Drilling Unit Operation and
Maintenances Manual.
5.3.5 Eight (8) copies of English packing list shall be provided, with 1
copy putting in cargo case, the other 7 copied submitting to the
buyer, and the e-document shall also be provided.
5.3.6 Eight (8) sets of each of English maintenance manual, 1 set of
each e-document.

6. Training and Service Requirement

6.1 Product Guarantee

6.1.1 Between the periods of drilling platform commissioning, the


supplier shall provide training material and conduct technical
training for operation, use and repair.

6.1.2 At the construction site where the buyer designated, the supplier
shall carry out necessary on-site technical services which satisfy
the user’s requirements.

6.1.3 In the course of manufacturing, the buyer has the right to make
random investigation to the equipments status at any time, with
the premise of contact and communication in advance.

6.1.4 The warranty period means 18 months after goods Exworks


factory or 12 months after commissioning for the top drive. If
product quality accidents occur after the warranty period, the
supplier shall be responsible for the after-sale service. Final
warranty terms see commercial contract.

6.1.5 Top drive & its component are all new & not used, also it is
according to up-to-date technology to produce. Canrig guarantee
to provide a new, complete & build the top drive after contract
signed. The top drive system comply with its design feature with
API & related standard, satisfy with the contract requirement & no
need for the user to buy any additional equipment.

6.1.6 Due to the quality problem and cause the top drive components
damage during the warranty period, seller will take responsibility
to replace the parts to client. And the replacement will provide
another 12 months warranty, any related import expenses will be
by seller account. Exception for easy worn parts.

6.1.7 Due to the client incorrect operation & cause the damage of the
top drive, client take the responsibility & all related expenses.

6.1.8 Canrig provide installation supervise & commissioning, as well as


the technical preparation for initial installation. Client provides
labor, materials & equipment to support Canrig service engineer.

6.2 On-Site Installation, Commissioning & Training

6.2.1 Buyer will send formal written notice to Seller 20 day ahead, the rig
should be all well prepared for installing the top drive. 7 days ahead to
confirm the installation schedule. Seller according to the Buyer’s formal
notice

6.2.2 Client must provide enough man power (Electrical, Mechanical &
labor) to assist the completion of the installation. As the same time, one
driller & two floorman will help to operate the drawworks, etc.

6.2.3 Canrig will provide qualify technical engineer for 30 days 1 man
installation supervision at customer location.

6.2.4 Canrig will provide qualify technical engineer for 5 days 1 man
(included in the 30 days 1 man) on-site training.
6.2.5 Due to Seller reasons that cannot finish the top drive installation on
30 man-day, Seller will take responsibility for the technical person day
charges.

6.2.6 Due to Buyer reasons that cannot finish the top drive installation on
30 man-day, Buyer will take responsibility for the technical person day
charges.

6.2.7 Client provide free of charge welding machine, consumable, ladder to


the crown block.

6.3 After Sale Support


Provide 365 days, 24 hours telephone hotlines support.
