1 Overview

This document describes how to replace the shutter assembly in the ITM hood (external heating hood).

2 Procedures

Replacing the shutter in the ITM hood

1. Place the press in Standby.
2. Open the front door of the press, and remove the 4 external heating lamps.
3. On the feed side, remove the ITM hood assembly.

NOTE: If the press has the dripping reduction kit installed, remove the heating hose from the ITM
hood before removing the hood assembly.

4. Place the ITM hood on a sturdy work surface, and remove the 2 M4 Allen screws from each side
of the end bracket of the hood.

5. Remove the end bracket.

6. Slide the shutter assembly out, push the 2 guide rollers back to allow the shutter to pass.

7. Insert the new shutter assembly.

8. Return the end bracket and secure it with the 4 M4 Allen screws that you removed earlier.
9. Check to see that the shutter opens and closes smoothly.
10. Return the ITM hood to the press. Reconnect the heating hose (if installed).
11. Return the external heating lamps to their place.
