Entrepreneurs have been called the new “movers and shakers”


of contemporary society. Entrepreneurs have been responsible for
providing livelihood for themselves and their families, creating jobs
and revitalizing industries, boosting the economy, contributing to
society and inspiring people.
They have been an example to others not only through their
successes but also through their failures which spurred them on to try
harder and eventually succeed.

Origins of Entrepreneurship
The root of entrepreneurship can be traced to capitalism, which is an
economic, political, and social system which has its roots in the desire of
private citizens to produce goods and services that the public need.
The term entrepreneur is often traced to the French words “entreprendre, or
one who undertakes”, which can be translated as a “manager”.
