The Pashupatinath temple is one of the important Hindu shrine located on
the bank of river Bagmati. Pashupatinath temple is devoted to Lord Shiva.
Thousands of devotees come to Pashupatinath temple to offer their prayers
and seek blessings from God Shiva. One of the major Festivals of the
temple is Maha Shivaratri, Bala Chaturthi, and Teej on that day over 1
million devotees visit here. Teej is one of the most celebrated festivals at
Pashupatinath Temple. Teej festival is celebrated by Hindu Nepali women
for long life, the happiness of their husbands. During all these festivals, the
temple is adorned with lights and garlands and takes on an ethereal
appearance. This temple complex was inscribed on the UNESCO World
Heritage Sites' list in 1979.
01. Pashupatinath Temple

The main complex of the Pashupatinath Temple is constructed in the


Nepalese pagoda architectural style. Regular Abhishek performs in
Pashupatinath Temple. Its time is 9-11am. During this, all four doors
are opened. It is only during this period when all the four faces of the
Shiva Lingam are visible to the devotees. You have to purchase a ticket
to attain Abhishek. The basic abhisheka ticket prices around
NPR.1100/-, which combines the Rudraabhisheka and various other
poojas.

Another UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Kathmandu Dubar Square is the
notable landmark of the city. Kathmandu Durbar Square was the palace of
the King of Kathmandu who ruled the city for several years. The site is
used to be a bustling spot filled with tourists and locals. The square was
surrounded by quadrangles, revealing courtyards and temples. It is also
known as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square in an honor of Lord Hanuman.
There was a statue of Lord Hanuman in the entrance. Kathmandu Dubar

Garden of Dreams in Kathmandu is also recognized as 'Swapna


Bageecha' and 'garden of six seasons’ is a place for all who is a nature
lover and wanted a place where they can peacefully and calmly get
relaxed. It was a brainchild of Kishore Narshingh. It is a neo-classical
garden covering an area about 74,000sq ft. Garden of dreams has a
majestic an amphitheater, ponds, pergolas, urns and three pavilions which
attracts the visitors. In 2016, a small museum was integrated within the
garden, and at present, it also houses a library and a cafe. There is an
entrance charge which you have to pay for entering the garden. Opening

03. Garden of Dreams
Swayambhu also is known as Swayambhunath Stupa, and the Swayambhu Maha
Chaitya is another famous holy places in Kathmandu which attract the tourist and locals
towards it. The name Swayambhunath means the 'self-existent one' or 'self-created'. it is
probably the most sacred among Buddhist pilgrimage sites. The entire temple complex
was enclosed by a wide variety of trees. The temple includes the stupa, a variety of
shrines and temples, monastery, museum and a well-stocked library. The temple got a
nicknamed of the "Monkey Temple" as there are several monkeys in Swayambhunath

Phewa Lake is the hub of attraction in Pokhara. The lake lies at the
altitude of 742 meters and occupies 4.43 km2 of area. The average depth
of the lake is about 8.6 meters. It is a semi-natural freshwater lake
enveloped by rani ban or queen's forest and stunning reflection of the
Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges in the clear lake waters. It is
also a perfect place to experience the ever so glorious Himalayan sunrises.
It has some religious significance too as it is known for the sacred Tal
Barahi Temple located on an island in the lake. The lake is famous for
boating on the bank of the lake which provides the visitors with the tour

Shanti Stupa is a magnificent Buddhist pagoda-style monument which adds

Morioka Sonin with local supporters under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii,
a Buddhist monk and the founder of Nipponzan-Myohoji. Shanti is a Sanskrit
word meaning peace, and Shanti Stupa means Peace Pagoda. Shanti Stupa in
Pokhara is the first World Peace Pagoda in Nepal and seventy-first pagoda

International Mountain Museum was established in 1995 by Nepal


Mountaineering Association to maintain a record and document the
history, evolution, development and legendary achievements in
mountaineering. It has a stunning collection of artifacts, original gears,

explorers who climbed some of the highest peaks in the world. The
museum contains three main exhibition halls: Hall of Great Himalayas,

07. International Mountain Museum, Pokhara
Davi's Fall in Pokhara is an extraordinary waterfall
which creates a 500 feet long underground tunnel as it
reaches its bottom. This tunnel has brought the fall its
name, i.e. Patale Chango in the Nepalese language,
which means "underground waterfall." Fed by Phewa
Lake Dam, the waterfall is surrounded by abundant flora.
A landmark of Pokhara, Devi's waterfall is a must-visit

08. Devi's Fall, Pokhara

The Bindhyabasini temple is located near Bagar, in


Pokhara, Nepal. Legend relates this temple to the famous
temple of Bindhyabasini in Bindhyachal in Uttar Pradesh,
India. It is believed that King Siddhi Narayan Shah of
Kaski brought the deity to Pokhara before Nepal’s
unification. Bindebasini temple is also located in birgunj
city of Nepal which is believed to be connected with the
temple in pokhara. Goddess bindebasini, sister of goddess
durga is worshipped here.

09. Bindhyabasini temple, Pokhara


World Peace Pagoda is also known as Japan Peace was established in
November 2001. It symbolizes peace and promotes harmony in humans,
especially after World War II. It is a famous tourist attraction place in
Lumbini. It is located outside the main compound, the structure is a
glorious stupa with traditional pagoda style architecture. It was
constructed by Japanese Buddhist at a cost of US $1 million, the

08. World Peace Pagoda, Lumbini

It is one of the very famous temples in Lumbini located in the


Mayadevi Complex. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. According
to the Buddhist scripture, the Mayadevi temple is considered as the
birthplace of Gautam Buddha. Mayadevi Temple was designed by
Japanese architect Kenzo Tange in 1978. Bhodi tree in Lumbini is
located in Mayadevi Complex right to the scared pool called Puskami.
Bhodi Tree also called as Bo or pipal tree under which Siddhartha
Gautama is said to have attained enlightenment. On 8 Dec, Bodhi day
is celebrated as on that day Buddha's enlightenment underneath the
