•According to Diokno, M.S (1997) political self and identity are
developed through socialization, through the ways people learn the
knowledge, norms, values, motives, and roles appropriate to their
positions in a group or community.
POLITICAL CULTURE
•A political behavior that shapes by the set of attitudes and practices
held by the people.
POLITICS
•Kendall (1998) defines politics as a social institution by which the
people in the groups acquired and exercised power.

•this is where the learners learn
moral, spiritual, and political values
that will help them become
nationalistic and honorable citizens.

PERSONALISTIC POLITICS
•It is the way of Filipinos saying their
gratitude toward officials for
prioritizing a project such as a road
widening. restored waiting shed, etc.
•A common mistake of Filipinos is that
all credits were given to them even if
the money for reconstruction came
from the taxes of the people.
•The term Kapwa is a recognition of a
shared identity, an inner self, shared
with others. It implies in such.
inclusiveness that moral obligation is
to treat one another as equal fellow
human beings.
FILIPINO HOSPITALITY
•Filipinos welcome their guests and tourists
as if they are their brothers. and sisters by
always making them feel at home, offering
them something to eat or even a place to
stay.
RESPECT OR ELDERS
•Putting the hand on the forehead
while saying "Mano po" and constantly
using "po" and "opo" is the way of
greeting and respecting the elders.

BAYANIHAN
•This is one of the popular Filipino values in
which they are giving something without
expecting something in return, Filipinos are
always ready to give back or share with their
friends and loved ones especially the ones
who are in need.
BAHALA NA ,
•The term "Bahala na" came from
Bathala means GOD. This is a way of
Filipinos leaving everything into God's
hands.

COLONIAL MENTALITY
•It is regarded as the lack of patriotism and
the attitude where the Filipinos products
more than their own.

MAÑANA HABIT
•this term procrastination is a Filipino
phrase called "Mamaya na" which
means doing things that could have
been done at the present but decided
to do it at a later time.

NINGAS-KUGON
•The Filipino term Kugon refers to Cogon
grass that easily burns out after it is put into
the fire. Thus, it refers to the attitude of
starting things immediately but quickly losing
the desire soon after experiencing difficulties.

•When both parties are not on good
terms, they find it so hard to apologize
and wait until the other party asks for
an apology first.

•One bad attitude of Filipino wherein they
tend to pull down other people and try to ruin
each other's reputation to bring their selves
up.

•An attitude of arriving late at
commitments despite the agreed time
of their meeting. It usually occurs
especially meeting someone who
closes to them.
CONCLUSION
It entails understanding and acknowledging the
influence of our political culture, values and
traits in our life as Filipinos so we become
more active citizens. It helps us to take part in
politics, ensure that there is good governance
as well as building a good future of our nation.
