Planting Empowerment

Zontians lead environmental movement against Gender-Based Violence

In a bid to end the gender-based violence, the Zontians of Zonta Club, in collaboration with other
Zclub organizations under ZCCT, spearheaded a commendable tree planting project at San
Roque Watershed, Penablanca, Cagayan, November 25.

The collaborative project aimed to promote environmental sustainability while raising awareness
on the widespread problem of gender-based violence.

The initiative titled, “Zonta Eco Angel Community Project,” has set a goal to plant a total of
13,000 trees over the span of 24 months, representing each tree a vow to care for the world to
build a healthier, greener future.

Actively participating in the activity, the Zclub of CNHS-SH, affirmed their firm commitment
towards maintaining the fight against gender-based violence.

“We pledge to continue participating in and organizing different programs that will mitigate
gender-based violence in the community,” reaffirmed the Zontians.

Furthermore, the club representatives made a moving connection between preserving the
environment and protecting the women.

“Sana kasabay ng pagtubo ng libo-libong halaman, ang pag-usbong ng mundong ligtas sa

kapahamakan para sa mga kababaihan,” expressed the club representatives, emphasizing their
hope for a world where women are safe and comfortable.

Pioneered by the Zontians from Zonta Club of Central Tuguegarao, Zclub of Cagayan National
High School-Senior High, Golden Zclub of Cagayan States University CBEA, Golden Zclub of
Cagayan States University Carig Campus, with the guidance of club advisers, the successfully
