We need to continue and fortify a platforms about our environment, that despite the fact that we

have a pandemic today it has not been an impediment for us to quit indicating intention in cleaning,
preserving and protecting our environment so we organized an activity to urge everybody to help
our environment.

Kilos Kabataan para sa Kapaligiran or KKK is a project initiative of PSCHS-SSG that aims to realize the
above-mentioned desire towards the environment. Clean-up drive and tree/mangrove planting and
other environemental-related activities shall be done through this project in coordination with the
different stakeholders. Kilos Kabataan para sa Kalikasan (KKK) is a program coined and initiated by
PCSHS SSG that aims to promote protection and preservation of our mother nature and

This project also aims to encourage young people to contribute meaningfully in addressing
environmental issues and concerns through tree /mangrive planting and clean-up drive.
Stakeholders such as the City Environment and Natural Resources, neighboring barangays, other
youth and school organizations, were also invited to extend the same effort, hence, we can't do this
alone.

How to Address the problem?

Climate change is a global issue that should be addressed by each one of us, if not, will surely cause
disaster and consequently loss of lives. Through KKK project, we, young leaders will be able to
extend our hearts and hands in addressing or mitigitating the said issue in our simple way, in our
own place or city. Through this, we were able to plant mangrove trees in selected coastal areas in
Panabo City. This mangrove trees can be of best help to prevent typhoon from hitting hard towards
the towns near coastal areas. And will serve as breeding grounds for fishes to reproduce more
fingerlings to support fisherfolks and consumers in the future. Faculty and staff of pcshs, a group of
college students and other stakeholders were encouraged also to take part in the said advocacy. We
were able to plant atleast 300 mangrove trees so far during the pandemic due to limitation on
participants and time to plant. On the other hand, the clean up drive also addresses the issue on
improper segragation and irresponsible throwing of garbage especially alongthe roads. This activity
was able to clean the selected areas in Gredu, and have set example among the residents the value
of keeping the place clean and safe.

KKK project started many years ago through SSG though the term was not yet used. It has been
positively affecting the lives of those who took part in the said project. Hence, some of them are now
also initiating activities alike. Moreover, the recent related KKK activities have able to encouraged
and engaged teachers, administrators, college students and brgy yout organization to join the said
endeavor. The SSG has gain partnership with the Girl Scouts of PCSHS, Social Work students of DNSC,
Sangguniang Kabataan of Gredu, Panabo City and City Environement and NAtural Resources
(CENRO) in making every activity successful.

Furthermore, through our clean-up drive, we were able to show and inspire residents to maintain
cleanliness in their areas which is helpful in achieving healthy life and living. Moreover, the
participants have shared that they would love to join the same activity in the future because it was
fulfilling to have serve and extend their service to our mother nature in theor own simple ways.
Thus, this acticity does not only touched the nature, it also touched the hearts of those who have
took part in the project.
