Describe your project entry (one page)

In lieu of two of our supposedly consecutive projects entitled CSCS: Cut for
Cancer and CSCS: Outreach for Cancer patients, we have replaced and
coordinated with LCDC on an alternative outreach that is also continuous and
may be long term and sustainable.

CSCS: Living the Lasallian Way & CSCS: Isang Paskong Maliwanag is a joint
project by the CSCS Student Council along with their Program Councils,
wherein the core values taught by St. John Baptiste De La Salle are highlighted
and shared throughout the community. Both projects are connected in giving
hope through microteaching and through environmental causes.

CSCS: Living the Lasallian Way focuses more on microteaching. Covering

basic hygiene and proper hand washing. The project was done at Brgy. Zone IA
Dasmarinas, Cavite. We taught kindergarten students via different approach, in
which they would enjoy and undersrtand the lesson.

CSCS: Isang Paskong Maliwanag is a project in partnership with ERMAC. They

have been implenting such project by going out to different communities and
installing water bottles that act as lights. This project was done at Brgy. Tua
Magallanes, Cavite. It is a training program wherein we demonstrated how to
make and install a water bottle that will be filled with water and zonrox that
would act as a light when struck by the sun. Such bottle and project is called
Isang Litrong Liwanag. Training was done in the morning and installation was
Isang
done in the afternoon. Afterwards, we wanted to give back to the community by
giving out a bit of what we can share.

Give a brief background of your project entry. State the reasons why you thought of this project.

We came up with both projects in lieu of our supposedly consecutive project on

Cancer patients. We consulted with LCDC and they recommended us to find an
alternative project due to special and sensitive cases regarding our supposed
target participants. We then came up with a project that also involved sharing
and focused on what St. La Salle has taught us.

As CSCS and as Lasallian Students, we value health and one way of sharing
that to others is through microteaching. Also, we thought of a project that is
greatly environmental and beneficial to our target community. Along these
objectives, our College focused on a bright and wonderful Christmas where a
family may have a joyous Christmas. Some communities still have no electricity
and an alternative may be the project called Isang Litrong Liwanag.

Who are the beneficiaries and how did they benefit?

CSCS: Living the Lasallian way focused on kindergarten students from Brgy.
Zone IA. It is important to start from the young people of the next generation in
order for the practice of teaching and health to propagate throughout time.
These kids are the future. It is important to teach them the value of health and
the value of sharing and compassion.

On the other hand, CSCS: Isang Paskong Maliwanag contributed to helping the
communities at Brgy. Tua Magallanes, Cavite. Through training, the community
may also make their own water bottles that will serve as light.

Process of Implementation: Who are the people/institutions/organizations involved in the project?

What are their roles in the implementation?

This project will not be possible without the help and coordination of LCDC
and ERMAC. LCDC helped us coordinate with our target participants and
guided us all throughout both activities. People from ERMAC, properly trained
us on how to the Isang Litrong Liwanag project and with the consent and
approval of Sir Pareja, assisted us in our CSCS: Isang Paskong Maliwanag
Project. We are greatly thankful for both institutions for everything that they
taught us in this outreach

Our adviser who also guided us throughout the project and the officers who
willingly volunteered to come to the communities to teach and help are much
appreciated.

Is this project implemented only once? Or is it a continuing program? What are your future plans
for the project?

Both projects focused on a Sharing through teaching approach. We focused

on outreach projects that may be long-term and progressive. We have plans
to pass this project to the next Student Council, although it is still their choice
to wether continue the project or not.

LCDC suggested that we continue our project to other parts and community of
Brgy. Tua Magallanes, Cavite. Microteaching may also be done to other
schools and may include more than basic hygiene.

What resources did you use for this project? How was the group able to raise funds for the
project?*

Resources used for the CSCS: Living the Lasallian Way project usually
contained teaching aid materials such as cartolinas and colored paper.
Materials were from the CSCS SC office supply.

CSCS: Isang Paskong Maliwanag used recyclable materials such as 1.75

PET bottles and pieces of roof steel. The PET bottles were collected from our
homes while the pieces of steel were from ERMAC, which are all recycled.

We thought that making out the most of what we have is also one thing that
St. La Salle has taught us since we have to be resourceful and we must value
the things that we have and share as much as we can give.

*Optional: You may attach a one-page financial/material resource generation report with details
