# SNGPL- COMP-OPR-02
1. Purpose
This procedure is devised to provide guidelines for safe operating of Automatic Titrator.
2. Scope
This procedure is applicable at locations of compression department in Compression
Chemical Labs.
3. Procedure
3.1 Start
i. Switch on main power button.
ii. Turn on the Titrator button which is on back side of instrument.
iii. Waite until the Titrator finishes the initialization process.
iv. Obtain at least 500 ml of NaOH 0.1 mol/L concentration to use as titrant.
v. Transfer this solution to the titrant bottle.
vi. Take at least 500 ml HCl 0.1 mol/L concentration to use as sample.
vii. Insert the aspiration tube in the titrant bottle & the dispensing tube in a waste
beaker.
viii. From the main screen, press the Burette. Then Press the select.
ix. Press Start when prompted or wait a few seconds for Titrator to start.
x. Select the desired program from the given list.
xi. To start a new titration, press Start from the main screen.
xii. When titration starts , the stirrer will turn on.
xiii. If the pre-titration volume option is enabled, the prescribed volume will be
dispensed.
xiv. According to measurement mode and dosing type option, the Titrator will start to
deliver doses until the titration end point is detected or a titration stop condition
occurs. The titration will be successfully terminated.
xv. During titration, both the potentiometric S-shaped curve and the selected
derivative curve can be displayed on the Titration Graph screen.
3.3 Shutdown
i. Remove the aspiration tube from the titrant.
ii. Turn the aspiration tube in the deionized water.
iii. Select burette rinse from the main screen. Unplug the instrument.
vi. Let the rinsing get completed.
