    EXERCISE 7

    1.Discuss briefly the function of the Declaration of Principles and State Policies in the
    Constitution.
    The Philippine Constitution's Declaration of Principles and State Policies offers a broad
    vision for the direction of the country's administration and development. In order to achieve
    the objectives of democracy, social justice, and the general welfare of the Filipino people, it
    directs policymakers and acts as a compass.

    2. As manifestations of Republicanism in our government, discuss briefly the relation of the


    principle of separation of powers and the system of checks and balances.
    When establishing democratic governmental structures, the idea of the separation of
    powers and the checks and balances system are intertwined. They are frequently employed
    in tandem to make sure that political authority is shared, utilized, and restrained in a way
    that prevents any one branch from growing excessively strong and potentially abusive.
