1. Who are you?

I am Anastasiia Horbach, the founder of The Knitted Baby Room. I am from

Kyiv, Ukraine and have always been passionate about arts and crafting. I am
a busy mum of one little boy who is 8 years old, and previously worked in
Ukraine with children as an art teacher.

When I moved to Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland in 2020 because of

the war, I wanted to continue to create handmade crafts and knits for children
to enjoy.

Since moving here I have been volunteering as an arts and crafts teacher at a
Ukrainian community centre located in Aberdeen City Centre to bring joy and
a welcome distraction to the child refugees from Ukraine living in the area.

Adults and children have loved my unique crafts and that is why I am bringing
my business, The Knitted Baby Room, to the UK for the first time!

2. When did you start knitting?

I started knitting in 2015 when my son, Denis, was born to create special,
high-quality, handmade toys, blankets and rattles for him.

Friends saw the unique handmade creations and they asked where I got them
from. When I told them I had made them myself, they asked me to make more
for their little boys and girls. I was soon inundated with requests from parents
who had seen my creations and wanted to buy more and more from me. A
hobby soon became my small business.

3. When did the Knitted Baby Room launch?

I launched the business, which sells made-to-order and unique crafts, in 2017
after I quickly realised the demand for my creations kept growing. Today, I run
the business from Aberdeen in the North East of Scotland.

4. Why should people buy from you?

I only use the highest quality materials and my patterns and designs are
always unique. My customers can request a design that they love in any
colour or size. Whether it is a favourite cartoon or character from a movie or
book, I can get creative to bring it to you. They are handmade and no one
else will have the same one, which make lovely gifts for your loved ones.
As a proud Ukrainian, each month I have been creating hand painted canvas
bags and donating them to child refugees from Ukraine.

When you buy an item from my shop on Etsy, £1 of that sale price will be
donated to a charity which helps Ukrainian refugees.
