Statement of the Problem

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the antimicrobial properties of different

concentrations of the Triffid weed (Chromolaena Odorata) in mitigating the growth of E.coli

bacteria.

1. What concentration of the Triffid weed extract is most effective? (Concentration A:

Control; Concentration B: 50%; Concentration C: 75%; Concentration D: 100%)

2. What is the effect of different concentrations on the results of the disc diffusion assay?

3. What are the phytochemicals (bioactive compounds and antimicrobial properties) present

in the Triffid weed extract?

4. Is there a significant difference among the treatments (50%, 75% and 100%) and the

control variable?
