Dear Producer, I, as a listener of your discussion on the book world wonders, I have some thoughts

on its existence and importance. I personally think that those books should not exist.

There is no need for the book now that we have the internet. At the time of the book’s conception, it
was needed because there was no other way to get that kind of information. Now that we have a
more efficient and less costly way of getting this information, there is no need to spend money and
time searching in a book. This results in the “decline in traditional markets” as the editor puts it and
essentially makes the book redundant.

The book also encourages destructive and reckless behaviour to become famous. This includes
making cats and people dangerously obese. Doing such things may endanger you or other people
and animals or result in death. Most of the book’s success is from the unwholesome interest in the
fates of the record-holders. This is proven by the decrease in sales when extreme records were
removed, showing disinterest in the educational part of the book.

the book’s content and its accuracy were compromised, and ethical rules have been revised because
of falling sales due to the lack of extreme records. This shows that the book’s editors are more
interested in increasing sales than educating people. That is why they include things that cannot
accurately be describes as meaningful achievements that properly reflect human behaviour.

One may say that the book is important because it makes a good gift for teenagers, but this is for the
wrong reasons. Instead of teaching children useful knowledge and morality, we are now teaching
them to be sadistically entertained by other people’s endangerment. Proponents may also say adults
should be act responsibly regarding risky behaviour, but what of the children who are the main
audience? They have not yet developed good judgement.

In conclusion, the book’s content is harmful to humans as a society, and it is no longer useful to us
due to new technology and therefore should not exist.
