The Reminder of the Truth (3: 10 – 17)

But, as for you:

I. Paul’s Personal Testimony

(vv. 10- 13)

II. Power of God’s Word

(vv. 14 – 17)
Acts 13: 50

But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing

women of high standing and the leading men of the
city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and
Barnabas and expelled them from their region.
John 15 : 20

Remember what I told you : ‘A servant is not

greater than his master’. If they persecuted me,
they will persecute you also. If you obeyed my
teaching, they will obey yours also.
Charge to fulfill the Mission (4: 1- 8)

1. Preach the Word (vv. 1 – 4)

- With 3 elements: reprove, rebuke, exhort
- With great patience
- Word of God to the ‘itching ears’

2. Fulfill God-given Ministry (vv. 5 – 8)

- Do whatever God wants you to do
- No regret, no reserve, no return back
- Jesus Christ is the ‘righteous Judge’
Acts 17 : 2 - 4
As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three
sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,
explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and rise
from the dead. “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah”
he said. Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and
Silas, as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and quite a few
prominent women.
Personal Requests & Warnings (4: 9 -22)

Deserted by his
friends (9–13; 19-21)

Opposed by
Alexander (14, 15)

Unsupported at his
first defense (16-18)
The tradition tells us that Paul was
found guilty and sentenced to die. He
was probably taken outside the city
and beheaded. But, Timothy and the
other devoted believers carried on the
work!

“God buries His workmen, but

His work goes on”
- John Wesley
Personal Reflection :

As the number of false teachers are increasing, how should

I behave and teach the Truth?

Can I describe a time when I found the Scriptures met me at

the point of my need?

Like Paul, is it possible for me to say confidently about my

stand in Christian life and ministry? If not, why?
