INTRODUCTION

Adjectives are those phrases that accompany nouns and designate a few nice of that call.
For example, "a pink flower", "a pink flower".

In English we know that the adjective typically is going proper after the noun,
however in English they alternate the order: the adjective will usually be
located earlier than the call it describes.

On the alternative hand, the easy beyond is a verbal time this is used to
explicit motion which have been located withinside the beyond. We
discovered styles of easy beyond: ordinary or irregular.

ADJECTIVES

Adjectives are the words that we use to modify or accompany the noun. In general, they are
used to describe, complement or quantify the name in the sentence.

3
1. They precede the noun in most cases:

The latest update.

An important information.

My grandma loves sewing.

2. A noun can function as an adjective when used to describe another noun:

The leather purses. A

department stores. The

police officer.

3. They are invariable in gender and number:

She has funny friends.

He called his grandma yesterday night.

You need to buy two yellow flowers.

4. Adjectives can come after state or sensation verbs, such as the verbs to be, to feel, to
smell, etc.

I feel good this morning! I think I’ll go running.

You look awesome! Are you on a diet?

4
Chris didn’t come because he’s sick.

In fact, in English it is necessary to follow a fairly strict order in case we want to use
several adjectives to describe a noun. This is a very marked difference between English and
Spanish, because in our language we do not usually give importance to the order in which
we say adjectives\.

In English there are about 7 types of adjectives, but this does not mean that you should
include them all in one sentence. You can use about 3, but always positioning them in the
correct way.

But just as in Spanish, in English there are a variety of types of adjectives. These are:

• Qualifiers: fat, blonde, caring, stubborn, smart, etc.

• Demonstratives: this, that, these and those.
• Quantitative: none, some, any, many, etc.
• Possessive: my, his, their, your, etc.
• Numeric: one, three, fourth, nineth, etc.

5
PAST TENSE
The simple past tense shows that you are talking about something that has already
happened. Unlike the past continuous tense, which is used to talk about past events that
happened over a period of time, the simple past tense emphasizes that the action is finished.

You can also use the simple past to talk about a past state of being, such as the way
someone felt about something. This is often expressed with the simple past tense of the
verb to be and an adjective, noun, or prepositional phrase.

For regular verbs, add -ed to the root form of the verb (or just -d if the root form already
ends in an e).

For irregular verbs, things get more complicated. The simple past tense of some irregular
verbs looks exactly like the root form.

6
For other irregular verbs, including the verb to be, the simple past forms are more erratic.

Write ten sentences with the following adjectives (USING THE PAST TENSE
FORM).
ADJECTIVES: alone, angry, best, easy, pretty, quick, special, strong,
wonderful, worst.

1. She was alone when her home was robbed.

2. Daniela was very angry with his mother because he did not buy her the toy.

3. The best soccer player was about to enter.

7
4. The chemical exam was easy yesterday.

5. They had a pretty role in the movie.

6. He lost that game very quickly.

7. Gabriela made a very special cake for her boyfriend.

8. Those strong football players need to train all the week for their game the next
week.

9. That wonderful statue was for sale last week.

10. He was a worse student than you last year.

8
CONCLUSION

Adjectives are unique phrases, due to the fact way to them we will realize
what someone is like, if an item belongs to a person or now no longer, if we’re close to or a
long way from something, if we're first, 2d or third. In short, there’s an adjective for every
situation.

Everything round us has one size or another relying at the intervention of qualifying
adjectives. Things are quite or ugly, human beings are first-rate or unpleasant, animals are
risky or harmless.

We can't say whatever approximately a thing, man or woman or living being if we do now
no longer lodge to a qualifying adjective. Some serve to explain in a high- quality and
complimentary manner and others for the opposite.

The phrases we use to signify ownership are possessive adjectives. Thanks to them we
realize the way to discover that that is mine, yours or theirs. They are positioned
earlier than or after the noun (this is my dog or that book is mine).
